Office Tavern Grill is a solid cross of good food, good beer and good service. Walk in without a booking, they provided a time limited booth which we gladly accepted. We tried a bevy of.options, Al the wing options and a number of the entres. I took the short rib and it was really nice. Would certainly go back next time I'm in town. Last night we went to The Grand Cafe to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff are courteous and friendly. But the food was tremendously disappointing. I had a special of the evening, Dover sole with buerre blanc sauce. This is a dish I have enjoyed many, many times. Last night it was presented with a thick tasteless gloppy sauce which made it unpalatable. I could barely eat it. My husbands seafood pasta was average at best and the lobster piece that I tasted was fishy tasting making me think it was prepared perhaps for Valentine’s Day and was not fresh. His mushroom crepe appetizer was just plopped on a plate with no attempt at plating it in a way to make it look appealing. My daughter’s scampi appetizer was also not tasty and she could not eat all of it for that reason. The only thing I could say that was very good were the rolls. The soufflé at the end was tasty but average. So disappointed. The restaurant is pricey. It is beautiful but the food sadly doesn’t live up to the beautiful environment.

Another lovely meal. This is one of the most underrated restaurants in the area. Though it resides in the Westin Governor Morris, it's independently owned and operated. It serves both the hotel and local community. Dinners on Friday/Saturday are especially noteworthy as they have a to order sushi/sashimi station with a good selection of regular and innovative dishes. Last night was a family event for 6 people at the last minute. We were able to be seated quickly and the service was as usual impeccable, unlike some more pretentious small places on South Street in Morristown proper. We enjoyed a lovely salumi plate with a nice variety of cured meats and pickled vegetables as well as fresh oysters. The wild mushroom soup was also very good. The entrees of note were roasted venison, the crab cakes, roasted sea bass, and of course the sushi. Don't miss the cocktail menu, it's very thorough with some nice seasonal options that frequently change. This place is a keeper. It means so much that you're such a fan of our restaurant -- from our excellent service to our cocktail menu and delicious menu options like our fresh sushi, we're happy that you love everything. We're here for you anytime you need a fantastic meal, and we hope you'll be back for more very soon!Take care, Rich, Blue Morel General Manager

We've been patronizing the Tavern since it opened. The food and service have always been at least at least a 3-star experience, far above the casual chain restaurants with similar menus. However, on weekend evenings, we noticed the management is no longer taking the restaurant and its patrons seriously. The important customers are now the after-party people who've finished the wedding celebrations and are drinking up a storm at the bar. And bringing their drinks into the Tavern, overrunning the customers who are still completing their meals. Last Saturday, there were couples, beer bottles in hand, unapologetically hanging over our booth, others taking selfies beside our booth. Truly, we were hemmed in by drinkers all around us, oblivious to their rudeness. Sadly, management didn't come in to survey the scene. We complained to our server who herself was upset with the situation and said it happens every Saturday night. We gulped down our food and left never to return.Thank you for the review Bevert. I do apologize for the rude guests that were in the dining area with you while you were trying to enjoy your meal with us. If you wouldn't mind speaking a little more in-depth about your experience with me my email is [email protected]. I look forward to speaking with you soon.Jeff LeeManagerGk's Red Dog Tavern

It's a place that you go to after work to unwind, enjoy some decent discounted appetizers during Happy Hour, drink some Samuel Adams and maybe meet some ladies. I had the Pretzel Burger ($12), Angus beef, American cheese, shredded lettuce, Russian dressing which was all served on a soft pretzel bun. Oh yes, it also came with fries. I won't mention how many Sam Adams. They have a free popcorn machine that is pretty much always refilled and though it is not gourmet popcorn, it's still good.Let me talk about the decor. I hope you like frogs because there are more frogs hanging up on the walls than you will find in a Florida lily pond. After you enter, you are going to find a long corridor which leads to another door. A long central bar awaits you which is surrounded by TV screens, a main dinning hall and to the right a smaller bar with a pool table, shuffle board and dart board nearby. I hope you don not like conversation because if conversation is going on you will not hear it.The Famished Frog is right on the square in Morristown so parking options are limited. Try to find street parking, walk two blocks for free street parking or pay for garage parking about a block away.

Nothing but praise for Chef Fredy's. The staff were attentive. The food was delicious. We shared the calamari as an appetizer. I had the filet and lobster tail. My husband had the ribs and lobster tail. Both of our meals were incredible. There was no room for dessert but others around us had gelato (very generous portion) and an amazing looking chocolate cake. If you are in the area, you should do yourself a favor and eat here.

My colleague arranged for a lunch mtg with clients at this restaurant and then let me know that we were also having dinner at the same place with a other set of clients!2 steaks in a day?? Decided to keep lunch light and went straight for an entree of sea scallops with risotto...just the right amount of food. My colleagues had the lobster bisque and salads and others had seared tuna. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Ended with expressos. For dinner my colleague ordered apps for the table - chilled assorted seafood with tuna tartare, crab, shrimp and oysters. Also some calamari. Very fresh. I decided to get a 12 oz NY strip...very nicely prepared. It had just the right hint of seasoning. There were a few sides ordered for the table with scalloped potatoes, spinach and roasted mushrooms. Dessert was molten lava cake...was nice, but not much of oozing chocolate. Fantastic experience, top notch service, great food overall. Prices aren't crazy...expensive, but not NYC steakhouse expensive. The place was buzzing at dinner on a Tues night. Would definitely recommend it as a good spot for steak.

My son and I ate dinner here tonight. Tomorrow he has orientation at Drew University. Anyway, it is in such a neat town, very quaint, close to Drew and lots of street parking. We came on a Tuesday night, about 8:30 and figured it would be good as it had a decent sized crowd unlike some of the restaurants around it, which are many. It was busy for good reason. We had the beef burgers. And while on the expensive side, they are out of this world. Not sure what kind of beef they use but this might be the best burger I've ever had. This is no plain burger. Your first bite you will realize what I'm talking about. The only thing I would change is perhaps lighten up on the salt a tiny bit. Regardless, it was incredibly good and very rich. While I'm used to hearing a dessert being referred to as rich, this is the first time I would ever apply this label to a burger. And unlike some hamburgers, it wasn't what surrounded the burger that defined its taste. Rather, it was the burger itself. The bun, cheese, egg and other inclusions only supplemented the taste. Everything else with our meal was very good. The service was great, Our server was quite lovely and pleasant with just the right amount of attentiveness. Great experience.

I reveled in the Good Morning Burger (pork roll, fried egg and hamburger) with ho-hum french fries (better if they were fresh cut)$14.00. My spouse enjoyed a steer herder for $14.00 and others enjoyed the Mac and cheese burger and the brie burger all for 14 or $15. We had a very tasty spinach and artichoke dip ($10) and an order of fried pickles for $6.00. All in for four adults and a ten year old for $102.36.Service was superb at the lunch hour; prices were very affordable even in confiscatory Morristown. Food quality was above average but not gourmet. The hamburgers were offered ONLY rare, medium or well. I ordered mine rare and it came medium and my family ordered their's medium and they came well done. I have found that unless one goes to a true high end steak house, the "doneness" is whimsical at best. Same here. In sum, great service, creative menu, good food but not low cal or low fat. Be forewarned but enjoy the decadence.

We are new to the area and booked this restaurant for Father’s Day lunch. It turned out to be brunch only, no ordering off a menu, just buffet. It could have been a good buffet, maybe it was before our 12:45 reservation. There were long lines and it was an unorganized mess. Empty platters, no rolls/bread (never replenished), all seafood picked over and not rotated out with fresh items put in, etc... We tried the carving station for beef but found the server unable to communicate in English to give us our preferred type of cut. Other patrons tried to ask questions about sauces or type of meats at station and they were also unable to communicate with the carving station server. At the dessert stage, a long line snaked around but it was mostly empty cake platters (again, not replenished) and sliced fruit. This restaurant has good reviews as a steakhouse, so we will try again. However, the brunch buffet is a disappointment, poorly managed and best given a pass,Thank you for your feedback, I'm sorry to learn that the service was lacking on your recent visit, there is no valid excuse. I can be reached at the restaurant 973-539-6666, or via email at [email protected] should you like to discuss these issues further. I do hope you give us another chance to show you the hospitality that we are known for. Thanks again. Jerry Keller
