Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and bears â the five greatest things in the universe! Thatâs exactly why Black Bear Diner has developed such an eclectic collection of tasty dishes and a beautiful woodsy decor in each of our restaurants. If youâre in se
My girlfriends family loves going here. Itâs a great diner. They have great food. The staff is very nice and they will do whenever they can to make sure your having a good meal. Prices are also affordable. I donât know if they have vegan options. Overall the food was great and the staff is also great. Good place to go eat with the family they are good with kids as well!

Passed through Modesto and sought out a local (non-chain) eatery for lunch. This rustic, converted gas station is quirky. You enter on one side and order, then walk outside and re-enter through another door to pay. None of this is self-evident, as it appears that everyone who eats here are return customers and know the drill. The sandwiches my wife and I ordered were superb, and we were delighted to enjoy them in a pleasant shaded garden area. It was like a little oasis in the middle of melting Modesto.

One nice thing about this place is that if you are fortunate enough to arrive during their happy hour, all we did was order a wide variety of their appetizers and some drinks and was very satisfying. The best part is the prices for the quality of food that you get.Great service, great food at half price during happy hour, what a deal. The unique menu is better than your typical options which makes the experience worth it. We will be back.

I have enjoyed the wide selection of micro brews on tap at Commonwealth over the years. The place was a mob scene for lunch on Monday, absolutely packed. I had the Poor Boy sandwich, perfectly cooked shrimp, lettuce, and tomatoes, the fries were warm, the portions generous. The french style bread used for the sandwich was absolutely fresh, as good as you would get in France. My only complaint was it took over 20 minutes for our food to come after being ordered, but given the crowds and the quality of the cuisine this is a reasonable price to pay.

Very Trendy and Relaxing. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with menu items. James is the best server ever!!!!
My wife and I visited Camp 4 to celebrate her birthday. We shared the Poke bowl and a mushroom panini. Both were delicious, the staff kindly split the panini and included salad into two equal portions served separately. The menu is limited, but what they serve is tasty. I have had the meat and cheese boards in the past, they include quality products beautifully presented. There are several wines by the glass and a large choice of wines by the bottle, with many from other countries. They gifted us a chocolate panini for the birthday, it was lovely. Service was friendly and efficient.

My daughter and I stopped here on our drive home from Chico to San Diego. The choices were amazing, we had to find reviews to help us pick. I got the tri-tip sandwich(Chimichuri Melt) which had awsome flavor combination and just the right meat to bread ratio. My daughter had the California Salad and it was excellent. We loved the casual but nice atmosphere and our waitress was soo nice, friendly, smiley, happy. We got our food very fast and I could not have asked for a better experience for what we were doing that evening. If in Modesto again, I will be going here. Plus it is right next to a Costco, so you can stop, have a reasonably quick and excellent dinner, then fill your tank for the rest of the journey. Easy access off freeway!

The waitress was incredible and its killing me that I can't remember her name. Hard to explain, but she had a really good vibe and was super positive. For the price the food was outstanding. Everybody enjoyed their meals. I had the New York and it was cooked perfect. The loaded baked potato hit the spot and the cesar salad was delicious.

We wanted to celebrate two special events that took place yesterday 5/18, my son's graduation from UC Merced and my wife's birthday. I checked potential venues in Merced, Fresno, and nearby cities but frankly I had no interest in fast food restaurants or steak houses. I wanted something sophisticated and memorable. Somehow I came across Dewz restaurant online and I was impressed with the history, the menu, and the reviews. I have dinned at some of the finest restaurants around the world but very few places can match Dewz. I was impressed by the service, the quality of the food, and the preparation. Head Chef Connor Carlin has surpassed all my expectations. We had a lovely evening. It's unfortunate that for us in San Diego, Modesto is too far. Otherwise, we would become regulars.
