I wanted to catch a quick lunch and didn't feel like a burger so I stopped in at the Sunshine Family Restaurant and had an amazing Mexican Omelet! The waitress was very friendly and helped me make the choice between two omelets. She came back later to see if I liked it and I certainly did. The cost was just like fast food places but oh, so much better.

Lots of food for your money. Hubby had pork chop which was delicious - I had to try it :) chose soup (potato) instead of salad. The.soup was just ok. ( thought it was watery and bland so was glad I ordered salad. I had the tenderloin, but requested no gravy (a mistake as it was dry - should have ordered the gravy on the side). Friends each had catfish filet and grilled chicken both raved about how good they were. Meals came with, potato, meat and soup or salad. It was a Friday evening and they were busy, but service was good.

I've had many meals at the Decker Hotel over the last 15 years when I come into down to visit family. The food has always been delicious, and I've had everything from a chicken salad sandwich for lunch to trout almondine for dinner. The servers are always attentive and kind. We have stayed at Maquoketa Caves State Park numerous times and have just found this place!! We stopped in on a Sunday evening before a show and they were pretty busy. Service was knowledgeable, efficient and speedy! Food was excellent, affordable and the view was just as nice. We sat by the window, watched the waterfall and fish feeding. What a great hidden gem!! We will definitely be back!
