What a lovely find! My fiance and I decided to plan our trip around local eateries instead of popular tourist spots. Our travel book, Fodors, recommended Colleens and we couldn't be happier about our choice to stop. I enjoyed the Egg Benedict and he devoured the Hangover Cure. Both were equally scrumptious! My only regret is not taking a second to snap a picture (But I didn't want to look like a tourist ;) )

This protected courtyard is a lovely place to sit and enjoy shade or sun in subtropical quiet. No noisy music, no espresso-machine roar, no oblivious online addicts glued to their seats for hours. If it rains, which often happens in Makawao, you can move inside, where it is, alas, considerably noisier. If your companions are boring you to death, you can shop for glass, bling or art in the surrounding shops. Service can be a little, well, quirky but staff seem like a friendly and well bonded group. My friend chose a mushroom-and-goat-cheese omelette, substituting greens for the potatoes, and gave the dish a C+. Her friend had a spinach omelette but left those yummy home-fried potatoes on the plate--I had to hold my wrist down to refrain from stabbing them over to my plate. None of my potatoes survived my breakfast, you may be sure! As for me, my salmon benny was as good as it could be, right down to details like medium-cooked eggs that don't run all over the plate in their efforts to escape my fork. Each of my friends opted to pay $2.50 extra for the privilege of local eggs, but I, a Canadian armed with 70-cent dollars, did not wish to bump my estate into bankruptcy for breakfast and stayed with free-range chickens pecking their way around the Mainland. As it was, two single capps and the benny set me back $24 (about $33 CAD). The initial tip was normal but I didn't tip at the end because apparently the waithelp have not learned the fine art of NOT INTERRUPTING PEOPLE MID-SENTENCE. How rude! Why not simply get out the bullhorn every so often and yell, "Table 3--aren't you finished yet? Move on; get a life!"

Our restaurant choice had apparently closed down very recently. This one was in the same courtyard and became a good alternative. The courtyard alone is worth a visit. Relaxing, lovely trees for shade, etc.You order your food from a board. We weren't disappointed with either the service or quality. Prices were reasonable.

Played golf there this past week. So, it is a beautiful upcountry spot and it's cheap when it comes to Maui golf as well as very friendly staff. However, it's not resort golf so the golf carts don't have window shields so if it rains your wet, there is no drink cart girl and the greens were not typical Maui greens; very slow and hard to read. But we had the most beautiful rainbows as we played. If you love golf and want a different view, upcountry, and a great price, I would suggest coming and playing, just don't expect it to be Kanaappali or Kapalua

After a bit of a stroll in Makawao, we tried this place for lunch. A nice interior with outside seating and a big bar. We did sit outside and had a local hen as a hostess. We had drinks and ordered Pickle Fries and split the Island Ahi plate. Delicious! We would stop again for sure!! Service was great and the local patrons were obviously having a good time too.

I had the salmon salad and it was good. However, having eaten at Haiiâimaile, the sister restaurant, the day before, liked the food better there. However, you canât beat the view of the Wailea golf course combined with the ocean vistas looking at two islands. The restaurants are totally different and worth the visit to experience both.

I prefer this place for lunch usually, but took a friend here for dinner. Make a reservation, which is important. We had a nice table in the main entrance area of the room. Servers was friendly. Had their great Paniolo Manhattan to start (Paniolo blended whiskey, carpano sweet vermouth, orange bitters & a luxardo cherry served with a twist of orange). Yum.A must have here is the Maui French Onion soup. Just have it! People talk about Maui onions, well the broth is great as is the smothering of gruyere cheese and croutons. Really good!My friend had the Paniolo ribs as a main course, which were very tasty though we both thought the portion was too small. The side dishes were nice.I had the Aged New York Strip steak as a main course, which was a good portion, but it was not cooked to my liking. It was blue on the bone and I asked for it medium rare to medium - certainly not blue. The meat itself looked good but was actually not very tasty at all, in fact kind of oddly bland, despite hwo lovely it looked on the outside. The sides were better than the steak, especially the mixed mushroom saute... the matchstick fries, though very yummy, were overly salted. All in all a good meal, nice table, always nice to visit there and we will be back, though the steak was a weak point of the meal. Next time I will order something else or return for lunch. Once again, we loved the ONION SOUP! It saved the experience of the meal.AlohaThank you for your review. We thank you for coming in and dining with us and we hope to see you again soon.Mahalo

We needed to stop for a quick bite on the way to Haleakala Crater. After a quick search online, this place came up and we werenât disappointed - everything was delicious! We parents each had a pork sandwich that included an amazing pineapple slaw, and the kids (5 & 7) had the Monte Cristo and the Breakfast Croissant. While we were waiting, we were able to explore the grounds which included Maui glass blowers and the outer grounds of the distillery. This place is not fancy (itâs a blue food truck after all with small tables to eat at) BUT the taste makes up for it. Donât miss out if you have the opportunity!!

The smell of this hidden gem lured us in. It's located behind some galleries and shops down a small alleyway. The service was timely and friendly. The food came out quick and was super delicious. Our best meal on Maui. We both had sandwiches on their homemade focaccia bread. They came with a side of Caesar salad, the dressing was excellent. I would definitely eat here again and again!

New American Cuisine. Fine Dining.
What a fabulous dining experience. Jeremyâs food is as refined, creative and delicious as any we have ever eaten. We loved the setting and Paulinaâs knowledge of food and service is perfect! Their attention to details and flavors are impeccable and we really appreciated their connection and explanation of sourcing and preparation. We discovered a new food, the Kiwi Berry from Oregon which was delicious and new it was served on a sampler plate Amuse Bouche that also had raw honey mixed with Chinese spicy mustard that was really interesting and good. I caught my wife wiping the last of the chocolate sauce from desert with her finger, which rarely happens. This was one of our favorite meals ever and we will be back for sure next time we are in Maui.
