We had out of town guests coming for the day so we picked The Backyard Grill because the location was central and our previous experiences with this location and their other franchises were all positive. We spoke to the manager and made lunch reservations for six and requested a round table to facilitate easy conversation. Upon arrival the hostess greeted us warmly and seated three of us at a round table as requested. The hostess advised us of the lunch special for the day. A short time later our of town guests arrived and were seated with us. We sat for quite awhile before a not young or not old waitress came to our table. She took the drink orders for the the last three to arrive and subsequently got the order wrong by one and the sort of gave the impression that it wasn't her mistake but her guests. We sat a long time before she returned to take our food orders. By this time the restaurant was packed so it didn't surprise me when it took awhile for the food to arrive and we did enjoy the time visiting. After the food was served the waitress never returned to ask how the food was or ask if we needed a drink refill. One of our guests asked her for a drink when she passed by. Everyone enjoyed the food and the venue. My wife and I will return because the menu is extensive, the food is well prepared and usually the service is good.
We picked sweet barbecue boneless wings. This was supposed to be the mildest sauce they have. Tasted like they were dunked in pure Tabasco sauce. It was terrible. Seems like every time we've given them another shot it gets worse. We couldn't eat them. My one grandson ordered chicken tenders with mandarin oranges, they came with fries instead. Waitress was very good, she brought out the oranges. My other grandson had a kids cheeseburger with fries. He was having trouble eating it so my daughter was going to cut it up. When she pulled off the bun it was black on the inside...burnt. We showed it to the waitress and she brought us out another bun. Really? This is not a one time occurrence. The food at this restaurant has gotten terrible.

We thought we would give Onyx a try because we heard the food was good. My husband ordered the Mac and cheese. The top was ritz crackers. Pretty expensive at $12.00. I ordered the fajitas. They were ok. There was about a tablespoon of lettuce and a tablespoon of tomatoes. This also was $12.00. Very over priced. Very disappointed. Won't be back.

Steak 'n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company's name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word "steak" stood for
A step above a lot of other fast food, Steak & Shake offers some quick, tasty burgers and their thin French Fries are great. They also have a wide variety of shakes and malts available to make anyone happy. Nothing fancy, but decent food at a decent price.

Pretty good food at a reasonable price. Food quality is decent and the food is hot and they have a large selection available.
Excellent lunch combo - I had the hummus & avocado sandwich and added tomatoes and cucumbers. Veggies and hummus were very fresh. Also came with chips and a cookie. Great choices and canât wait to try more from their menu. Even has a drive thru. This is what Machesney Park needed, so much better than borenara down the road!

I was in the area on business and we were told that this restaurant was very good so we decided to try it and I am glad I did because it was awesome! Iâm from the east coast so Iâve never had a bison burger so I decided to try one. The bison burger was phenomenal!! Iâve been wasting my time on beef all these years and I could have been eating bison! All of my coworkers loved their meals. The cocktails are also to die for! We were there for lunch so I only had 1 drink but it was delicious and everyone at my table raved about their cocktails. I would love to visit again and try more items on the menu. Thank you for your review Starria, we truly appreciate it. We are happy that you decided to dine with us and that you and your coworkers enjoyed your visit. If you are back in the area again we hope you will join us and find another new favorite. Thank you again.
Breakfast here is fast, affordable and delicious! They will even make chocolate chip Mickey Mouse pancakes. The skillets are great. But it does get crowded on a Sunday morning
