Karen has the best mixtures for sno-balls anywhere. She is always friendly and helpful. She also does a lot of community work. Great place and great prices.

I didn't know what to expect from this place. I don't travel up US-90 often and didn't know about it until recently, and knowing it was in an old VFW building made me worry it might not be the best⦠of anything. But I was pleasantly surprised at not only how well they have fixed the old building up, but how good the food (and service!) were. This is definitely a "don't judge a book by its cover" kind of restaurant.Steaks cooked right, with good flavor, and a stuffed flounder that is excellent are the highlights. Complimentary hushpuppies with neon yellow cheese sauce for dipping? Good, but a bit burned. Didn't stop me from wolfing them down like I'd never eaten before, though. I had a steak & scallops special and the steak was tender, and the scallops were not rubbery or over-cooked. A blessing! About the only thing that was a disappointment was an order of loaded fries. They were just your bog-standard crinkle-cut fries topped with more of that good neon yellow cheese and a few diced bits of real bacon. A good start, but hardly "loaded".Service was especially warm and personable from our server, and our drinks never ran dry. Prices were a bit "up there" but in this case I think the quality backs up the higher cost.

Stopped here this morning on a lark to have have breakfast. Never ben here before and no information to base the stop except for the VERY crowded parking lots. The breakfast is a buffet with all of the normal breakfast items. Service for beverages was quick and coffee was refilled without having to ask. My issue was with the temperature of the food. Items were either lukewarm or cold. Fresh biscuits were placed on the serving bar but were not warm enough to melt the butter spread. The place was very busy, so it must work!

Our first visit here, and the food was excellent as was the service. Nice relaxing atmosphere (Except for the screaming baby several tables away!), and a very pleasant experience. May stop by again on the way back home. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that no warm rolls or bread was included. Should have been for the prices.

GooRoo's is an unusual place now-a-days because the burgers are fresh. The cooks don't just throw some pre-frozen patty on the grill. It is also reasonably priced and usually crowded...which tells you something!

First this is not a Truck Stop (They Do Not have diesel pumps) They had the lowest price of gas that we saw in our trip. Everything from pumps to inside of store and restrooms were very clean (there were employees checking and cleaning all areas. You have a choice of several free standing area, Ice Cream and Fudge, Cold Sandwiches made to order, Hot sandwiches made to order, all kinds of Hot Nuts, and a full Bakerly (3-4 large disply cases). I have never seen any restrooms as large as these and as clean as these were. It is like shopping in a Wal Mart, one end was all kinds of things like you would find in a Wal Mart and the other end is rows of candy , chips, gums and several (about 16) doors of cold drinks. One side had different kinds of spices, hot sauce, bag nuts and chips. Yes I liked it. I have owned several C-Stores and a Truck Stop and I can tell you it is not a Truck Stop or C-Store, I have never seen anything this big or this clean with so many items, it is well worth stopping. We stopped on our way to Florida and on the way back and will make a point of stopping next time. I had heard of these stores in Texas but had never stopped at one, well worth the time to stop.

This is a great restaurant. Wide menu selection. Gumbo is house specialty. Served in a form bowl. Side Bread was really good. You have to order it. Seafood Trio is 19$ and worth it. Plenty to eat. Did not eat dessert. We read about this location on Trip Advisor. It is a family restaurant and it was packed Friday night 6-9. Mostly locals. 5-6 miles off I-10. The food is superior and service is really good. It is worth the time. We will return. Building Is plain. No flashing lights. Second location in Mobile.Wow thank you for the high praise. We love seeing when someone has a wonderful experience . thank you again and look forward to seeing you. Happy Eating Zack

You won't be disappointed! We're happy that you, your Dad and family enjoy our Cafe. Thanks so much for taking the time to give us such a great review!

We stop here sometimes on the beginning of a road trip for breakfast. This was one of those times. The service and food is your typical Waffle House. The coffee is hot, the eggs are done well, and the grits are always pretty good.We had a waffle with bacon and the bowl with grits, eggs, sausage and cheese. For drinks, we had tea and coffee. We were on the road within 30 minutes with full bellies and ready to get some miles behind us.

Once again Danny Lores and staff at Iveys prepared a delicious meal for lunch, piping hot, rib eye salad with homemade blue cheese, pan-seared super fresh salmon with scallions and cream sauce served over sautéed vegetables all served with enthusiasm by Amy, one of our favorite servers. Kudos!
