Interesting place. In an old Long John Silvers. A bar has been added. The owner sings to patrons then he disappears to cook your food. Ordered steak. Thinner cut but cooked right and good flavor. Boneless wings, baked potato, onion rings were very good. Prices are fair.Thank you for the review! Come back soon!

Visiting the area from out of town and needed breakfast. Stopped in for a steak biscuit and a drink before hitting the road again. Typical Hardee's breakfast rush - good food, semi-attentive zombie staff stepping on each other as they rush to get orders filled. Also had the typical crew of retired locals having coffee and holding court to share gossip. I'd expect nothing less. :)

OMG how sorry can bbq be? Eat here and find out. We had a sampler tray to start. It was suppose to have been rib tips, wings, corn tortilla chips and some corn fritter thing. Someone doesnât know what a rib tip is, or how to serve them; dry, over sauces to mask the dryness and very little if any smoke. Chicken wings not much better. I must say the chips (store bought) and the corn fritter thing were the best part of the entire meal. The main meal, both my wife and myself ordered smoked brisket sandwiches and fries. Right at 10.00 each. Iâve never felt so cheated on a meal in my life. 2 very small slices of brisket and maybe cup of greasy limp fries and an ice tea. Please either learn how to cook home made fries or please buy them from your supplier. Yours are horrible. The smoked brisket, while tender, was dry and old tasting, as if it had been cooked a day or more prior. Brisket is too good of a cut of meat to have served it the way you did. While your sauces are decent, you canât make bad smoked meat better with sauce. What type of smoker and wood do you use? I really could not detect much if any smoke taste at all. This was our first experience at your establishment, and I assure you our last. Please learn how to smoke meat or hire a pit master. Whom ever you have doing it now really should be doing something else. Yes I know what Iâm talking about, Iâve been a pit master for 20+years. Saturday afternoon and your restaurant was nearly empty, thereâs a reason ya know.So sorry to hear of your experience. It is our goal to provide every customer with a delicious meal and provide superior service. Hope you will give us another try in the future.
Wanted to find a quaint restaurant to eat breakfast before an 8 hour drive. Stumbled upon the Down Home Grill and was pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was attentive and both our breakfast entrees were wonderful Only open for breakfast and lunch.

An iconic institution which is clearly multi-generational and beloved by greater Louisa. There was an extensive menu but we only tried two items at lunch time. Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and a pork BBQ sandwich. Being extremely generous the food was institutional and reminiscent of some discount frozen dinners from my college days. Looking about the dining room a cooked-to-order breakfast would have been a far better choice.
