Driving from Virginia to Alabama. Stopped here for at burger at 12:30pm. 3 people in line in front of me. 25 minutes to get my order. Only ordered a single original burger and a shake to go. Waiting inside was like watching an old 1970's episode of Hee Haw. Employees and the restaurant were dirty: dirty cloths, ripped clothes, missing teeth, open sores on arms, filthy floors, hand rails, bathrooms and countertops. Watched the server make my shake. No plastic gloves on her hands, holding the almost empty 10gl ice cream bucket under one arm, and with her other, reaching all the way to the bottom of the bucket with a scoop. There were sores on her bare arms and hands, her uniform was dirty with pit stains under her arms!!! Oh my god!! And this uncovered arm and hand were scooping ice cream for my shake!!! Bare handed - NO gloves at all. The other employees were in the same condition: dirty & unkept. Took the cashier at least more than 30 seconds to count out my change of $11.58. So my burger comes out first. Meantime I'm watching this lady make my shake; 7 minutes to make a shake while burger is getting cold in my hand. Went to my car and looked at the burger. It was so covered in ketchup it was running out of the burger. Then I noticed raw uncooked spots on the burger meat. The entire restaurant was filthy, the people making the food were filthy, and I was given an almost raw burger. This particular Hardee's is unsanitary, unhygienic, and obviously staffed by inept, slow, incompetent people. I like Hardee's as a chain burger joint and have eaten at many of them all over the South, but this particular Hardee's should be avoided at all cost. I've never seen anything like this at any other Hardee's ever. Save yourself and avoid this health hazard of a restaurant. I can't believe they would survive an inspection by the local health department. Next Rest-stop down Highway 81, burger and shake went in the trash untouched.

Carl's Drive-In

Reviewed By BayInTN

We went on a Saturday night. There were many other people there, but it wasn't a crush by any means.Mindful of a description on Google as "1/8 inch thick burger patties," I ordered a double burger basket. Dear Husband had not read the Google review, so he ordered a cheeseburger with a side of fried pickles. Then we waited a half hour, which gave us plenty of time to look around and see how the trays with trash weren't being picked up or cleaned off. I watched an elderly man get out of his car, dodder up to the building, and throw away his own trash. Then, because there was no place to put the tray, he took it back to his car and stashed it on the shelf under the menu/speaker.When she finally arrived, the waitress was distant and seemed distracted. She kept leaving our car to go talk to someone in a car down the way.The food was just awful. Absolutely the worst. The burger patties are not, in fact, 1/8-inch thick. They're more like 1/4-inch. (Thicker, in other words, than the Google reviewer's exaggeration.) These are the same frozen hockey pucks you got in 2nd grade cafeteria food, and they have the same flavor and texture, too. And just to pile on the horrors, the burgers were absolutely stone cold. God only knows when they were cooked, and I guess I should thank my lucky stars that the heat lamp at Carl's Drive-In must be on the fritz, because goodness only knows how that would have contributed to bacteria growth. The double, the miserable thing that I ordered, has a slice of bread in the middle of it. A slice of bread can be removed. But for some reason, Carl's Drive-In puts the condiments on the bread in the middle instead of on top of the tiny burger patty. So if you remove the one thing that is completely unnecessary, you also remove the mustard and lettuce. Thank goodness I had mustard in the glove compartment. The fries were cold, limp, lifeless, and unsalted.Dear Husband's fried pickles were hot and crisp. They came with watered-down ranch dressing. His cheeseburger was as cold as my burger, so the cheese was a slab of cold American cheese-type product with a pale tomato slice and pulverized lettuce. The cheeseburger also comes with mustard. We were not offered any ketchup or mayonnaise, but my cold fries came with a TINY cup of ketchup. There could not have been a whole tablespoon of ketchup in there. My chocolate milk shake was melting by the time it came to me. It had no discernible chocolate flavor. The only advantage to Carl's is that it is cheap. The whole ordeal cost less than $14. I stopped eating the double, and Dear Husband ate several bites of it. I went home and made a ham sandwich that was fresh and tasty and ever so much more satisfying.Carl's is just inexplicable in its longevity and duration.P.S. -- I scrolled down and the website asked me, "Is this restaurant good for dining on a budget?" Well, technically, yes, since it's so completely cheap, but on the other hand, you can whip up a $5 dinner of Italian sausage, broccoli, and pasta with good parmesan cheese, and *that* is dining on a budget. The fare at Carl's is so bad and devoid of nutrition that I can't call it "dining." It's just treating yourself badly, cheaply.

Though Toqua Cafe is not open for dinner, it makes up for that by serving a great breakfast and lunch. In the seven years we've been eating there we have rarely had an issue. The service is always outstanding and many of the servers have been there for the entire time we've lived here, which says a lot for their work environment. The only issue we've had is that several times what we've ordered didn't arrive prepared as ordered. I tend to think this problem occurs in the kitchen since I've been shown the order check and it was correct. Regardless, no one wants to send an order back to be re-cooked while the other person either eats alone or waits and their meal gets cold.Still, it's a great place to eat and we frequent it often. The manager, Kim, is quite possibly one of the most efficient and professional and pleasant restaurant managers we've ever known.

Living in Tellico Village Tanasi s one of the clubhouse dining options to be enjoyed. Had a service issue which manager made right and we appreciated his customer response. Kudos. Specials many nights and Monday Prime Rib is a good night to go. Drinks are a good pour.Prime Rib concern. If you really want Prime Rib medium rare you have to order it rare. Otherwise it will come out medium. It’s happened twice. It’s not a thick cut so maybe that’s why they overcook it. Loaded baked potatoes really excellent. The tablecloths are new and plastic but a darker fake ostrich bumpy pattern. I would really like them to switch to white linen covered tables at night for a classier look.PLEASE get rid of those cheap little packets of butter and syrup and cream. TACKY!

Impressive positioning looking over the lake with many good views from inside the air conditioned dining room and some outdoor seating. Unique calamari dish with yellow peppers (hard to tell which were peppers and which were calamari...although it was an interesting taste would have preferred a larger percentage of calamari and the calamari was not as tender as we like). Prime rib was delicious and so was the cod. Wait staff was friendly and efficient.

I just happened to notice this driving through Loudon. I stopped in for lunch and was immediately greeted at the door & seated. I was provided a menu and advised of the lunch specials. I selected the 4 large blackened shrimp & lunch salad. They make their own Balsamic dressing and it is maybe the best i have ever eaten. Food came out quick, was very fresh and tasted wonderful. I will be going back for a dinner there soon. Great food, atmosphere and service makes thus a 5 star for me! They do not serve alcohol but you can BYOB.Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review Brad!
