Find out what American restaurants to try in Long Beach. For some, a tour of the Queen Mary, docked here since its retirement in 1967, evokes waves of nostalgia for the days of the huge ocean liner with its opulent rooms, 1930s deco décor and teakwood decks. Others, particularly the younger set, are entranced by the spine-tingling haunted ship stories on the nighttime ghost tour. But for everyone, a visit to this floating hotel and museum is a must on any trip to Long Beach. At one time a less-than-appealing place to visit, Long Beach has transformed itself into an upscale tourist resort, with many waterfront attractions, including a new, state-of-the-art aquarium with a fabulous shark exhibit, two excellent art museums, charming shops, public golf courses, the annual April Grand Prix international auto race and lots of recreational activities along its eight-mile stretch of beach. Take the kids to the waterfront entertainment complex with rides and live performances or to the farming demonstrations at Rancho Los Alamitos. Feeling romantic? Cruise the canals of Naples (that's right, Naples Island in Long Beach) in a genuine Venetian gondola. One thing is for sure: tensions and stresses dissolve in this laid-back, friendly city.

Basic diner food (plentiful in portions) but the patio seemed really nice on a sunny weekend day. There was a bit of a wait for the patio seating, and we were hungry so we sat inside. It wasn't too bad, The view of the marina was better from the patio of course, but it wasn't too loud in the restaurant and the food came quickly. The servers were quick and attentive to us despite a full house. Parking was plentiful as well!

Located in downtown Long Beach, this casual eatery offers California-French comfort food and an urban-style "roof tap" beer garden.
I was actually on a blind date, 530 pm on a Sunday night. It was easy to find her, the place was pretty empty. But it was perfect, soaring ceiling, quiet, low lights, the perfect atmosphere to get to know someone. The date was arranged, I don't live in Long Beach, it was a great choice. The food was very good, the waitress we had was attentive, great service and let us take our time. This will definitely be a place I will consider when I go on a real date.

We live downtown and have eaten here at least a dozen times. We have never had a bad experience. It's our go-to restaurant for a nice meal. The ambiance is great. It's an enormous place with lots of seating, and I love all the open windows during the day when the weather is nice (which it usually is). We have never had a bad meal or bad service here. It's good every time. Oh, and the freshly baked sourdough bread will have you craving it on a regular basis. We're particularly fond of the clam chowder, the crab cakes, the fish sandwich, the shrimp platter, and the chocolate cake.

I was very happy to find this Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles restaurant. It's hiding in plain sight right in the heart of downtown. Seems kind of camouflaged and needs paint outside. Thankfully the food inside is absolutely delicious. Some of the best and freshest chicken I've ever had. Tender and juicy. Just thinking about it is making me hungry.

We came to lunch time by boat. This place is worth the dining experience if you're looking for great views and the bar menu definitely had a nice selection of food and drinks! The rib eye steak was cooled to perfection. You can choose to either dine indoors or outdoors. It's a stunning building, especially the exterior, and offers a full view of the Queen Mary.

This was the first breakfast place we tried on our vacation and it was my favorite. It had an old-fashioned diner feel to it. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. Our 5YO granddaughter loved the Mickey Mouse pancake. My hash browns were crisp and tender and the bacon was crisp. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. One thing I definitely appreciated was the fact that it was neither crowded nor noisy. That was the icing on the cake for me.Thank you for your business and your great review.Nick

I had an egg white veggie omelette with fruit and french toast. So good. I liked how there were a lot of menu options which allowed to tailor my breakfast just the way I wanted it. Friendly staff as well.

We stopped by drawn in by the enticing outdoor deck on the second floor. The place was clean and modern. Great service, but we came for the food and drinks and we were not disappointed. The duck sausage flatbread was a great starter and the salads and tri tip sandwich were very good. Not cheap, but worth experiencing.

Beautiful restaurant, great steaks, and delicious desserts. We had the baked goat cheese, jumbo shrimps, French onion soup, roasted beets with goat cheese, Chilean sea bass, grilled swordfish, filet mignon, ribeye steak, and two chocolate soufflés. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Delicious and fantastic cuisine.

My friends wanted to dine here for breakfast while visiting the area. The line was long waiting to be seated but thankfully it moved quickly. Great service and very helpful, friendly employees. All of our meals were fresh and delicious.
