Find out what American restaurants to try in Lexington. Welcome to Bluegrass Country, the "Horse Capital of the World." But you don't have to be an avid racehorse fan to enjoy the natural beauty, culture and history that this exciting city has to offer. At the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary, for example, hiking trails wend their way through forests, meadows and gentle creeks, taking you past historic landmarks; there's even a nighttime guided walk for stargazing. The best place in the world for raising thoroughbred horses, Lexington has over 500 horse farms. The Kentucky Horse Park features films, horse shows and exhibits. Be sure to tour the American Saddle Horse Museum, dedicated to the native Kentucky breed, and watch races at the lovely Keeneland Race Course in season. Historic sites are plentiful here, including the Waveland State Historic Site, the childhood home of Mary Todd Lincoln and the Ashland estate of famed Kentucky statesman Henry Clay.

Mediocre food....nearly everyhing fried. I don't mind rolling up my sleeves for some home cooking...diet be damned, but this place is not worth the calories. Just okay.

We've been to Carson's on several occasions and never been disappointed. It is pricey but the quality of food makes it more than worth it, and I guarantee you will not leave hungry. Chances are good you'll leave with a carryout container because you won't want to waste a bite. The menu offers an inventive variety of dishes that are anything but ordinary and always flavorful. Don't worry if someone in your party is not adventurous, there are plenty of options for everyone. The service also has been consistently excellent. This is a good spot for a special date, celebrating an anniversary, or even a good spot for business lunch. Highly recommended.

Wild Eggs is a fresh, contemporary breakfast/ lunch spot in Lexington, KY. The friendly service and stellar food have made it one of Big Blue Nation and Lexington's favorite spots.
Spent a night in town driving thru and choose this place for breakfast. Staff is friendly and food is pretty good. Son love the hot chicken and waffles, bourbon apple crepes were enjoyed by my daughter. Had a cinnamon roll which is awesome. The pancakes are so airy and light and delicious as well. Also try the fresh oj, itâs great too. No real complaints other than no sausage patties

Showcasing an inspired mix of eclectic fine dining and familiar Southern consciousness, Coles 735 Main brings a playful sense of variety to Lexingtonâs dining scene. Lexington Kentucky-born Executive Chef Cole Arimes presents a menu of reinvented American
Coles was the restaurant my new son-in-law chose to celebrate the birthday of his wife (our daughter.) It is an upscale place with an ambiance of wine and candlelight. The menu offers a wide variety, and everyone in our party found the food to be is delicious. One caveat: when ordering a steak, ask for it to be cooked a stage higher than you like. I asked for medium well, and mine arrived browned on the outsides only. This is not a restaurant most people would go to on a regular basis, but it is ideal for a special event.

The best of Lexington. Malone's is Bluegrass Hospitality Group's original concept, Maloneâs is pleased to serve guests at three Lexington locations: Hamburg, Palomar and Lansdowne. Known for USDA Prime Beef, an extensive wine list and a relaxed atmosphere
We randomly stopped in Malones on a busy Friday night and were told there would be an hour+ wait. Luckily we found a booth in the bar, which is extremely noisy, but you get used to it. Highly recommend the Coach Cal lemon chicken and linguine, it came with a bottomless salad that was big enough for all four of us to share. Also recommended were the salmon salad and the mini burgers...delicious!

Located close to the University of Kentucky campus in the historic Southland shopping area, The Ketch is an independently owned casual, family friendly grill and bar with a varied menu sure to please anyone. Recently named the #1 seafood restaurant in Ken
My husband & I stopped in for dinner. We found the restaurant not too busy the day after the 4th. Drew was our waiter and was very helpful with suggestions and keeping our iced tea glasses full; very friendly! My husband had the fried shrimp and I had fish & chips. Both were very good. The Old Bay Fries are very tasty as well. Wish I had passed up the dinner rolls for dessert tho. I was really full after we ate and the dessert menu looked delicious. $44 for all without tip. Thanks for stopping by and taking a minute to review your visit. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your food and that you mentioned Drew as your server. We also think he is a keeper. Get you desserts to go next time. :<) Hope you come again soon.

This place is a really cool venue. Accented with a welcoming country vibe. The taplist in this place is solid, loaded with local craft beers. I went with two from Country Boy Brewing. I had both the Couger Bait and the Shotgun Wedding both were geat with BBQ. (Not to mention great names.) As for the food we were a group of four so we loaded up and shared. We had the Briket and Hot Chicaken sanwiches, Shrimp poorboy and the briket mac&cheese. All the sandwices were great. The standout was the brisket which next time I would go with the brisket platter. The service was also very good from the bartender to the wait staff. When back in beautiful Kentucky I will be returning to Edley's BBQ.Hey there, Robert! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us! We look forward to seeing you the next time you're in town!
