Food was good and prepared to usual KFC standards. Value meals are a lot more expensive. Spent $19 for 2 basic meals.

We made the mistake of going there the night they were running a Burger and Brew Special. We wanted a regular meal from the menu. Our mistake, obviously the kitchen couldn't handle the variance. I ordered the Filet Oscar. Probably one of the worst Fillets I have ever had. Tough ans grisly. The amount of Crab was embarrassing. My wife had the Mac and Cheese with Crab, again amount of Crab was embarrassing and the Mac and Cheese wasn't that good.

I ate dinner here. I had their blue cheese burger and fries. Burger was over cooked and dry. It was decent enough. Frys were hot and crispy. They had a great selection of desserts, ice cream, milkshakes, frozen yogurt, smoothies, Italian Soda's, etc. That's where this place really shines.

We had heard from a local that this was a good restaurant, but wondered why anyone would drive 30 miles to get there. We took the 30 mile drive while sightseeing and just happened onto the restaurant. Certainly a more upscale feel than most of what we found on the island and we really enjoyed it.

"Best breakfast in Kodiak".
After being in Kodiak for almost a week we were craving a good breakfast instead of eating another protein bar. Relying on trusty TA reviews and the promise of reindeer sausage we found Kings Diner. It is definitely a local place. Simple food and great service at a decent price. My husband had the reindeer sausage and eggs, I had the reindeer sausage omelette with sourdough pancakes. Very good. Decent coffee too. The price didn't leave us shell-shocked either. Coffee was $1.25, refills free, our entrees were $13.00, for $30 we had a good breakfast and the waitress was great.

From the outside (and maybe even the inside), you'd expect a local 'dive-bar', but... don't let that fool you when it comes to the food. Halibut burgers and chowder are delicious! Many locals stop here for dinner and a beer after work (or a day of fishing). If you're hungry, you won't be disappointed!

We went with friends. Service was fine and went downhill from there. The Fish and Chips is deep friend Cod w/Fries and is overly tasteless. The Patty Melt was burnt and not good. Our friends has burgers which seemed to be OK, but nothing special. Overall, the hype is there, but the food is seriously lacking.

We stopped for a cup of coffee and a sweet. The staff were so friendly and courteous. We were so busy visiting and enjoying ourselves that didn't realize the cafe closed at 3 pm. The staff graciously stayed open for an extra 20 minutes so we could finish our drinks.
