J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Maytag Bleu potato
This was a new restaurant for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Had the surf and turf special, which was cooked as requested and a good portions for the side. Bread and butter made on site. Good variety of desserts. Our servers was very accommodating and attended to our needs. Great experience and we will be back.

Stopped in for dinner and ordered the sirloin and garlic mashed potatoes. My first sirloin cut was too fatty and I asked for another which came out quick from the manager and much better and cooked just right. Of course you need to have the chips and salsa first while youâre waiting for your main meal. Those chips are the best!

The chicken cobb salad here (they call it the Welcome Back Cobber) and in Chesterfield were amazing. Absolutely superb. One of the best salads I have had ever. Wife and daughter loved their salads too and I loved the taste of their's as well. This place offers a wide variety of different salads plus different size options which I really appreciate because I have a small appetite. The mini-salad is perfect for me. The atmosphere is a bit industrial but overall quite pleasant. The noise level was not intrusive. Everything here tastes of quality and originality and I think the salads here are the best in town that I've had so far. They make each salad in front of you so it is super fresh. At a lot of healthy places, you sort of have to trade off taste for nutrition. Not here. The nutrition is high but the taste is still great. Best salad place in town for my money. Prices are modest considering the quality. Three people can eat for around $20. Being honest, the salads here put Panera to shame. The taste here is way, way better and there is way more variety to choose from as well.

My friend and I visited Spencer's for the first time last week, though we have both lived in St. Louis for a long time. I love the old fashioned atmosphere in the place. We were seated in the tiny back room, which was a little quieter than being out front. I ordered the french toast breakfast, and everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. My only complaint is that the water for my tea was not hot enough. Not only would it not brew the tea bag, but I could grab the pot with my bare hand. I sent it back to be reheated, and while it was warmer, it was still not hot. Other than that, we both enjoyed our meals.

This is my first review even though I've eaten here before. Stopped here for lunch on our way through the St Louis area by accident and found the food delicious and the service very good. The meal was a basic breakfast but the blended juices are very good. Don't remember what ones I tried, but both were very well blended and tasted excellent.

Hungry for some good beef, we chose the Texas Roadhouse for our dinner, and were glad that we did. Our salads were crisp and delicious, and the main courses, (prime rib and a ribeye steak) were perfectly cooked and delicious. Enjoyed my baked potato, also. Service was friendly and attentive. Wish we had room for desserts, they looked delicious!

Our most recent visit was for my mom-in-law's birthday. Everything was superb. If you love a great steak, this is the place. The t-bone is almost beyond description. Huge, and done to perfection. Don't forget the creamed spinach! The wait staff are excellent. It's almost like eating at home. No wonder - it is a house disguised as a restaurant! A bucket list steakhouse experience for sure. Enjoy!
