Good stop for comfort food and relaxation. Decor is still dated but restaurant is very clean and well cared for. Service was excellent and menu choices are abundant. Pizza is more Greek style, (thicker crust, very generous with additions and cheese). The full bar and beer/wine offerings are a welcomed addition.

Nearly the best BBQ you'll find this far north. Spiced a little mildly for my tastes, it's about as good as I've found so far from North Carolina. (My wife's home state. To be fair, hers is MUCH better. But she's adjusted the recipe specifically for my tastes.) Portions are generous. Pricey when compared to fast food but well worth the extra money. The friendly owner prepared my sandwich. Would have gotten a plate were it a dinner stop rather than lunch. My only criticism: the pulled pork was not pulled enough - chunks were too big and required cutting to eat. Biggest negative about that is that the sauce (served separately) doesn't coat as well. DEFINITELY going to stop in again when visiting relatives in the area. Have to give the brisket a try!

I checked out this place over the summer after riding by it several times when on my motorcycle. Half I finally stopped in. Nice atmosphere and terrific food. I enjoyed my experience so much I brought back friends during subsequent visits. Quiet with music that is not overbearing and a nice relaxing bar scene next to the dining area. A hidden gem!

The White Horse Country Pub Restaraunt is located in one of the most picturesque areas of North Western Connecticut and is the perfect Fall Destination! Highly recommended by friends it did not disappoint! The Menu is so diverse and tempting that it will take many more trips to just scratch the surface, and we are looking forward to it, as well as to experience the warmth of the fireplaces come late fall and winter. A Cozy Pub with great Cuisine and a friendly staff, itâs a new favorite!Try it, i guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Kent Pizza Garden was born in 1970 from a couple's passion to share authentic recipes from their family in Greece to locals residing in the Kent, CT area.
We did take- out pizza on a Monday night because nothing else was open and we really wanted pizza. It was ok, but not worth repeating. The crust was thin and resembled a frozen crust. The bar scene looked relaxed and comfortable with locals dining on burgers and such.

We've been going to Swyft since it opened--and, before that were fans of CT where Swyft's very talented, very creative, experimental chef, Joel Viehland, cooked for years. On a lark, we made reservations for Swyft's recent Valentine dinner--and the $68 three-course feast Joel created was Joel Viehland at his very, very best. For starters, the King crab with leeks rolled in charred local hay and caviar was superb: the crab, just barely cooked, moist and delicious. My husband's scallop crudo was also very good, a plate of thinly sliced raw scallops with a silky dressing of Rangpur lime, caper leaf and carrot--the dish was deeply redolent of the sea. No one cooks halibut as well as Joel does, and the moist, barely cooked, tender halibut with blood orange, apricot, chanterelle and nasturtium leaves was perfect (we both had wanted to order it, so agreed to halfsies). The generous serving of duck with mandarin honey, onion and sprouted barley was very good, served rare to medium rare. We both ordered the olive oil cake with hay ice cream for a satisfying finish. Don't forget to ask for the house artisan bread with either their good local butter or excellent olive oil. The service by now is homey, warm and charming--manager, waitstaff and bartender make you feel like you are on the set of "Cheers"--where everyone knows your name--and their effusive welcome made the evening a real occasion. They've had some snafus with their reservation process on Resy (a recent attempt to make a reservation for brunch required several time-consuming calls to the restaurant when the Resy site failed to show reservation spots for Sunday brunch). This is both a "neighborhood bistro"--and an occasion spot where you can take your most discerning guest from Manhattan and know they will be delighted in a semi-rural area where there are many restaurants of consistently good quality from which to choose. And the venue is gorgeous: all wood and stone and beautifully minimalist with a stone fireplace, a handsome bar (where you can also eat) and a big roaring fire in the winter. On a regular basis, inventive, brick oven pizzas, light salads and Joel's unusual velvety soups and bisques and very good grass-fed burgers are always available. Most of Joel's produce and beef comes from Rock Cobble Farm just 10 minutes from Swyft.

This is a little gem in Kent. I had brunch here with friends, two of us ordering poached eggs. The eggs were all perfectly poached. Yahoo. Nice service, nice menu. Can't wait to go back and try their Mexican food!

We recently bought a vacation home in nearby Goshen Ct and have been stopping at the Bull's Bridge Inn during our travels to and from NYS. We have been warmly received each time we visit especially by Jill, the tavern's wonderful and talented bartender/manager. We have sampled many of their soups this winter and they have all been fresh and tasty. We also have had both luncheon fare and dinner entrees and each one has been carefully prepared, fresh and delicious. We are always happy to try new dining experiences but when we are in Kent, CT we head over to see Jill & Co at the Bull's Bridge Inn. We feel like we're part of the family when we stop in... I am happy to recommend the BBI, Stop in at the Inn, you'll be glad you did.

The atmosphere was warm and cozy, with great ambiance and wonderful live piano music. The special, halibut, was absolutely delicious; perfectly delicately flaky with great flavor, sauce, and sides. My mother had the scallops, which were also perfectly prepared. Salads were fresh and deserts were also excellent. Can't wait for the next celebration!Thank you for taking the time to write such a kind review. We appreciate it greatlyâ¼ï¸

APP: Tamale special app. Pretty much authentic. Would have liked more mole on the side rather than the sauce provided. This side sauce tasted close to salsa verde but NOT green...still good.ENTREE: Had the jerk chicken; good. Would have preferred a thigh/leg; white meat is dry to me. NOT saying this chicken was dry...in general, white meat is dry to ME. Would have used pigeon peas if wanting to stay with the Jamaican theme. Black beans are more Cuban, red beans are Cajun as I have learned on my travels. Took half home.DESSERT: Banana bread pudding. Not too sweet; a good thing. Not too much of a banana flavor; good, I don't care too much for bananas. Did I detect a tad of almond (extract)...??? Nice. Took half home.Tony, the waiter, is very nice. I'm glad I got there early...I had the time to tell him some of my sauce recipes; mole, harissa, sofrito & plum sauces. My olive tapenade recipe...and callaloo recipe. All made from scratch.Tony was very gracious with his patience. Staff were courteous. Had a nice time.
