We started with armadillo eggs (stuffed jalapeños) which were very good. Not too spicy but enough to keep it interesting. I got the heart healthy grilled chicken which has cheese and mushrooms. It was a little dry. My companion got the buffalo chicken sandwich which was huge. The sauce is served on the side so you can control the amount of heat. Compared to my portion it looked like 3 meals. Service was friendly and they have a full bar. They have a stage for live music.

Went here for lunch with colleagues at work and the service was great very friendly and accommodating for our large group, we all had the buffet which was fried catfish and steak fingers with Mac & Cheese, beans, fried okra and few other items. The catfish was dry and not so good, the steak fingers were tender and the Mac & Cheese was ok had salad which looks like it come from a bag, the place is very dated and a typical mom and pop restaurant nothing fancy. But we didnât order off the menu so that may be a lot better then the buffet food, but if you donât mind ok buffet food then take your chances, I will eat here again but order from menu to see if there is a difference.
At Church's Chicken, we make real meals with the heart of the south and the Spirit of Texas giving our guests the chicken you crave and the taste you deserve. We've got pure honey-butter bliss with our made from scratch Honey-Butter Biscuits and that spic
I've come to the Church's in Kenedy on and off for a few years. Church's isn't a healthy choice, but its tasty and different from the other choices in Kenedy. Food is typical Church's fare.On my last and final visit, just before the lunch rush, the cashier rattled off incomprehensibly some sort of special. I said no, and placed my order for what I wanted. The barrio-rat then got her chones in a twist, and said, "I jus asked ju if ju wanted that, and ju said no!". She then stormed off shaking her head as she walked to presumably her manager's closet, shaking her thumb over her shoulder at me. Are you serious? For starters, speak more slowly, clearly, and intelligently. Second, if you can't handle things when its slow, how are you going to do when you have lunch rush?As the cashier came back, I told her to forget my order with a wave of my hand. As I got to the car immediately after, I called and spoke to the manager, informing her of the incident, and that I as a paying customer, did not appreciate her tone or attitude, especially since I sometimes bring my crew in to join me and provide business that we could easily take elsewhere. The manager was apologetic, and said she'd speak to her, but the damage is done. I don't NEED to ever set foot in Church's of Kenedy again, or anywhere else for that matter. Count on it.
My wife and I had an hour for lunch last week and decided to visit the newest Subway out on Sunset Strip in Kenedy, Tx. The environment was clean and inviting. The service was prompt and polite. The only thing was that they still had the advertisement posted for the Rueben sandwich and when my wife ordered it she was told that the promotion was over. Irrespective, I settled on roast beef and she was content with her club and iced tea. We will be back, as the location is just blocks from where we both work.
This place have good food but THE attention is not the best , it takes too much time to have the food on the table and once on the table .. The food is cold !
