Things to do in Jonesborough
The Snack Shack is off the beaten path. Take State Route 81 out of Jonesborough and turn left on Charlie Parker Rd. just before Lamar School. The Snack Shack is in a tiny walk up, drive up building. The cuisine is hamburgers, sandwiches and plate dinners. We heard that the chicken and fish sandwiches were excellent. Sides include fries, fried mushrooms, hushpuppies and onion rings. I ordered an 8 oz hamburger and chocolate shake. My husband ordered an 8 oz. cheeseburger, onion rings and shake. The bill was only $13.39.We live 8 minutes away, so we opted to eat at home. There is a lovely little park across from the Snack Shack. Unfortunately, no picnic tables so if you plan to eat there, take along a blanket. I'm not sure the burgers were the best we've ever had, but they come close. The onion rings were definitely the best ever. Hours: Tues-Thurs. 11am to 8pm; Fri-Sat. 11am to 5 pm. Closed Sunday and Monday. Credit cards accepted.

I like this Arbys and have always gotten good food. I just think it needs a perk inside. I'm weird. It sits in the parking lot across from McDonalds, in the Dollar General strip mall. The inside of Arby's needs refreshing. I can't eat inside, it just bothers me.
I attended a great rehearsal dinner over the weekend at The Blackthorn Club at The Ridges. The entrance is nice, driving down well-kept streets, by beautiful homes. Clubhouse is very nice and well decorated. The patio outside overlooking the golf course was the perfect setting. The food - chicken and waffles, three cheese stuffed tomatoes, ham sammies, etc. were all very good. The private dining hall was wonderful. Just a great experience overall.

Southern cooking with a twist ! Relaxing, cozy, atmosphere, live entertainment weekly on stage, hand dipped ice cream, great menu selections, kids menu too. Great for gathering with friends or family, business luncheons, private parties at the chef's tabl
My pulled pork sandwich, LOADED with pork, and cowboy beans were an excellent lunch. The building may not be an historic landmark, but it is an old building in historic downtown Jonesborough and well decorated. It has indoor seating on the main floor and outdoor seating up a flight of stairs to the back of the building. The staff are friendly and prompt, the food took little time to be served, and the prices are very reasonable.

We visit Pizza Plus in Jonesborough every week. Whenever we have to go to Jonesborough or Johnson City, there's never a question as to what's for lunch. It's ALWAYS Pizza Plus. The thin crust pizza is awesome and their salad bar is legendary around here. But when we walked in today and saw a poster that they now have cauliflower crust pizza, I had to try it! I've never had cauliflower crust pizza before, so my expectation were low. I was so surprised! It didn't taste like cauliflower and was very crispy! I've been doing low carb for a year now, so normally I just eat the toppings off their pizza. But now I'll order the cauliflower crust instead! It's not on the buffet, off the menu only. If you are doing low carb or have gluten issues, be sure to give this a try!!!

My daughter and son-in-law went here on a recent visit and came back raving about their breakfast experience. My son-in-law enjoyed a huge Western omelette and my daughter enjoyed the pancakes. The restaurant is a refurbished house in Jonesborough and makes for very cozy dining. It is easily found and usually stays busy. Being laid up from surgery recovery, they brought home an omelette for me and I have to agree with them. Ingredients tasted fresh and delicious Eager to go back for pancakes.

Looks like they converted an old house into a restaurant. So it has a familiar feel to it. The food was wonderful and the waitress very friendly and accommodating. Out of our foursome, we had biscuits and gravy, an omelet, "The Sandwich" and a big breakfast. Everyone gushed over how good everything was. The sausage gravy is first-rate in a state known for its good sausage gravy. I give this place my highest recommendation!

We have eaten occasionally at this place and never liked the quality of food. The service has been poor on all occasions. We ordered fries and gelato, the server charged me for the order. We sat there waiting for more than half hour and asked where are the fries? The server said what fries? Checked my order and told me we donât have any fries today. Then upon request gave me $1.25 back with attitude when I paid $1.99 for the same. They were very unhappy for some reason, we didnât argue we left. Other occasions our food arrived not so hot and too late.

Nice waitstaff, but I found the food average. Tried the deep fried ribs for an appetizer and they were under cooked. Price was good. Under $20 for a meal and appetizer.
