Find out what American restaurants to try in Hunt Valley. Hunt Valley is an unincorporated community in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. Its traditional name was based on being just east of Maryland's traditional Horse Country (like the Kentucky Blue Grass region), and the site of the venerable Maryland Hunt Cup championship of steeplechase horse racing and jumping established 1894. It lies just north of the city of Baltimore, along the York Road (former old historic Baltimore-York Turnpike) which is now Maryland Route 45 off Interstate 83. The Loch Raven Reservoir nearby is an important drinking water resource and with its surrounding forested watershed is one of three reservoirs (Loch Raven, Prettyboy and Liberty) established for the City of Baltimore and its surrounding metropolitan areas in Baltimore County since the 1880s and expanded in the 1910s. Located at a latitude of 39.5° North and longitude 76.7° West.

We hosted 45 guests for a Sunday Brunch last week at The Cinnamon Tree. This was the morning after our daughter's wedding and most of the guests were from out of town and staying at the hotel. The servers were just excellent. They kept a good tally on the number of guests coming and going and they constantly were refilling coffee and juice and quickly filled any guests requests (like for Bloody Marys or more silverware or napkin, etc). The food was wonderful. It is a brunch buffet with normal breakfast foods like sausage, bacon, french toast, pancakes, bagels, danish, potatoes, etc and then there were also a lot of lunch foods like tenderloin, fish, mashed potatoes, vegetables and a whole salad bar. There were desserts too but I really didn't notice them enough to comment. The most popular thing was the "made-to-order" omelet bar. Guests seemed to love that. I was too busy visiting with our guests to get an omelet but most of our guests did and loved them. The restaurant is recently renovated and just beautiful. They reserved a section of the restaurant for our group with different size tables. It was really a very fun way to wrap up the weekend. In terms of cost, the check was a little over $ 1000 for 45 people which included buffet, 5 bloody marys, tax and gratuity. I think that is quite reasonable for such a wonderful event. We were there for about 2.5 hours as guests came and went. Would definitely recommend this hotel and this restaurant to any wedding group.

My parents and I ate here in early June on the recommendation from my mother’s friend. We made a reservation the day before with ease. There was really no need for our reservation since the restaurant has plenty of seats. The restaurant is pretty huge. The restaurant is decorated with horse racing memorabilia all over. There’s a decent sized patio to eat outside. Our server came over about a minute or so after we were seated. She was friendly and polite. She always checked in on us. The menu is extensive - there’s something for everyone. They have a large specials menu with a nice variety of meals. - Crab Dip appetizer (creamy dip topped with cheddar cheese) served with warm breadsticks, carrots, celery sticks: This was pretty good. It came out piping hot and bubbling. It wasn’t overly cream cheese-y, which was nice. The bread sticks were a little too hard for my liking. The celery and carrots were a nice difference to the normal bread it’s served with.- Side salads: My dad I both ordered a salad as one of our sides. The salads were big and featured greens, cucumbers, halved cherry tomatoes, and croutons. I picked out some lettuce pieces that were brown on the ends, though.- Surf & Turf (5oz jumbo lump crab cake, 7oz sirloin topped with herb butter) with house salad and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes: Asked for the meat to be medium well but it came out well done. My dad thought the steak was seasoned well. He liked the mashed potatoes and the crab cake. The crab cake was jumbo lump as the menu stated, with very little filler (if any at all). - Philly Cheese Steak (half pound of thinly sliced ribeye steak, Philadelphia style hoagie roll, provolone, lettuce, tomato, fried onions) with fries: My mom loved this. The fries were crispy and hot. The cheesesteak was huge. She could only eat half of it. The ribeye was seasoned well and the toppings were fresh.- Fried Chicken Dinner (2 jumbo chicken breasts) with side of mac and cheese: Both chicken breasts were humungous. The menu said “jumbo chicken breasts” and they meant it. I could only eat half of one before getting full. I didn’t like the mac and cheese. It was cooked fine, I just didn’t like the cheese sauce. We had no room for dessert, even though the funnel cake fries were calling my name. The only damper on the evening (that had nothing to do with the restaurant itself) was a party of 10 celebrating a birthday. They were so loud and the little children were running back and forth and screaming their heads off. The mom kept yelling at her children and the entire restaurant kept looking over at them. It was pretty embarrassing and annoying to hear. The restaurant is located in a shopping center of sorts. The Harris Teeter is next door. There are quite a few places to park, but the lot fills up pretty quickly. By the time we left, the only spots left were all the way towards the back.Overall, we will return. We had yummy food, huge portions, and good service.

Nalley Fresh is a fast casual place to go to create your own healthy, unique salads, rice bowls and burrito wraps from a daily variety of proteins, salad lettuces, vegetables, cheeses, dressings & other toppings. You pick and point out the ingredients and the Nalley Fresh crew puts it together in front of you. If you’re wondering about the name, Nalley Fresh is the genius of Greg Nalley. This is my fifth or sixth visit to this location and it won’t be my last. A base salad is $8.79 and you can add a soup for $3 more though the salads are quite generous. The food is great and the workers make the atmosphere great too. They have some nice seating both inside and out.Greg Nalley - if you read this, bring Nalley Fresh to South Florida!

My daughter and I enjoyed a Saturday brunch after leaving a conference site. Although the restaurant was packed and we had to wait approximately 15 minutes for a table, the meal was worth the wait. We shared and thoroughly enjoyed the Brie Stuffed French Toast and Rancher's Benny before boxing the leftovers. Yes, the serving sizes are large, so go hungry. Service was impeccable despite the crowd, and I'm looking forward to introducing my husband to a new favorite place.

The Oregon Grille

We visited for the first time during Restaurant Week and were not really prepared for the formality of the service-- it's been a long time since I've seen wait staff in tuxedos! This said, the staff was all very friendly and helped steer us towards some good menu choices. Overall, the food was good but I felt like a competent home chef could do just as well and it was lacking the "wow" factor that I've become accustomed to with the really great Baltimore restaurants. We had the Caesar salad and beet salad to start and the salmon and gnocchi for mains. The wait person really recommended the ricotta based gnocchi and it seemed like the most special thing on the Restaurant Week menu. The gnocchi itself was delicious-- light little pillow of goodness. But accompanying sweet potato chunks were not quite done (somewhat crunchy) and there was way too much butter/oil at the bottom of the dish. The key lime pie for dessert was very good-- just the right balance of sweet and tart, but beyond the squirt of whipped cream on the top, no further presentation efforts. The kitchen was "early" with our main courses so we had to scoot the starters over to make room for the main courses. If this were a lower priced and less fancy restaurant, all of this would have been fine, but when you are paying a higher price and the service is very formal, you expect these little things to be just right and they were not. So all in all, this was a good, but not great experience. We thank you for joining us for Baltimore County Restaurant Week, and for your kind words about the overall appearance of our restaurant. Our servers take great pride in taking care of our guests and ensuring that they enjoy themselves, and the food that they're served. We're disappointed to hear that your experience lacked a "wow" factor, but we appreciate you taking the time to let us know what you feel we could work on. We will share your feedback with our chef and all kitchen staff to see if we can step up our plate presentation for your next visit. We hope that your next visit is better, and we look forward to showing you why so many of our guests choose The Oregon Grille. Hope to see you then, and thank you again for your feedback.

Pappas Restaurant & Sports Bar Cockeysville

The purpose of Restaurant Week is to entice customers to try restaurants. That is exactly what we did. We went to Pappas in Cockeysville; we had visited the Pappas in Parkville but not the one in Cockeysville. We were pleased that they honored my request for a quiet table and sat us in a small, back dining room. Patty, our server, was quick to come over and greet us and welcome us to Pappas. Patty really took excellent care of us – she paid attention to all the details. My husband and I decided to do the Restaurant Week menu; our friends ordered off the regular menu. We started off with the Fried Green Tomatoes Caprese Tower – not much of a tower, it was laid down, but really tasty. I originally ordered the Broiled Rockfish and Crab, but had to send it back as the first few bites had bones in it. Patty very quickly offered me something else. I went with the Ed Block Colossal Courage Crab Cake. It was huge – 10 ounces and very good. My husband ordered the Ribeye – 14 ounces of beef over hash browns topped with a mountain of crispy onions. He had enough crispy onions to share with the table. Our friends split a Double the Pleasure – two of Pappas’s famous crab cakes. We all enjoyed our dinners. For our sweet ending, we shared the Peanut Butter Pie and a Chocolate Mousse Cake. They both were decadent, rich and so satisfying. We will definitely return to Pappas. Thank you for participating in Restaurant Week!Maggi,Thank you for the marvelous feedback. We are overjoyed to hear that you had such a wonderful dining experience with us. We are thrilled to hear that our team provided you with amazing service and Patty was so friendly and attentive. We're glad that you enjoyed your meals and loved our Fried Green Tomatoes Caprese Tower great. We are so happy to hear that you had such a great time with us. We appreciate the lovely review. Barratt’s Grill does not thrill. Food prep, over-all seems to be very generic and average. Example is a big order item the classic Eggs Benedict. Hollandaise sauce to look good and to taste good needs lovely egg yolks. Big yellow and full of flavor yolks. Shame on Barratt’s because they used ghost white egg yolks. They need a different source for eggs. Get a different source for the English muffins too. Their English muffins must have come from an ordinary super market. Barratt’s, you have a kitchen and the kitchen has ovens. Get rid of the lazy bakers and chefs and get some who will bake fresh and hot on the spot English muffins. I hated and loathed the beet salad. Surprise, the Caesar salad was outstandingly good. None of the entrees were bad, but all were too average, and too generic in preparation. Double surprise, the wait staff was fast, attentive, and helpful. Waiter “Gee” was exceptionally excellent.
