This is a quick in/out type of place with no table service. You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. Pizza was a tad better than a frozen pizza. Doughy crust. Watery, flavorless sauce. Perfect if you have young children as they can be loud and arenât particular about food. Wish it was better....

Because Lunch at Bistro on Main. One of our party is SICK...so the philly/"steak" sandwich was the thing. He's been in the bathroom!! The sandwich was mostly cheese, little meat. Was the meat scarce? Bad? or the cheese? Storage temps matter. The other entrees were underwhelming. The Lobster Bisque arrived LUKEWARM with a Skin on it from sitting under a lamp. This is likely the LAST time we will visit. 2 stars since 2 people didn't get sick. I considered calling the Health Board !We are empathetic about a guest getting sick but we sold 23 cheese steaks that day and no one else got ill, so it definitely is not a health issue. I can also show you our A+ sanitation certificate from the health board. We are very careful and conscious of how we handle, serve and store our food. There is no excuse for the Lobster Bisque. I wish you would've said something to your server. We would've been more than happy to get you a fresh cup. I would hope you would come back and try something different on our menu. All the best.

Fine dining serving Eclectic American Cuisine overlooking scenic lake Sequoyah in Highlands NC
We stayed only a couple days in Highlands but enjoyed them immensely. We had two dinners and this one was by far the best. Service and food were wonderful. We rate this restaurant as being much better than the higher rated one in downtown Highlands. This is a place not to miss. Contrary to reviews I read about the food quality, the quality was top notch

The name may suggest a boisterous environment, but thatâs definitely not the case here. In fact we found it pleasantly serene and relaxing during our two experiences...one at lunch, the other for dinner. And yes, âgourmetâ is a proper adjective to describe the menu. For lunch, the salads, not your typical spring mix or iceberg, are abundant with nice touches to excite oneâs palate. Enjoy just the way they come or choose chicken, crab cakes, salmon, or shrimp for that extra morsel of deliciousness! Obviously there is an array of other offerings. Had we stayed longer in Highlands, no doubt we would have sampled a great many more. Now for the dinner meal...the Vidalia onion crusted salmon and the wasabi crusted salmon were our two choices. The salmon was perfectly prepared...medium rare...just on the done side of sushi! I was craving the grilled shrimp chopped salad as well...but that will have to wait until our next road trip in December. Wild Thyme is on Main Street but sits back in a conclave of other specialty shops. WT offers outdoor dining, weather permitting, as well....Fido is welcomed outdoors...on a leash or in your arms, So, donât give up on finding this special treat. If you do, youâll miss a great gourmet delight and a Wild Thyme!

Innovative farm-fresh cuisine for lunch and dinner in an environment of relaxed elegance. Most menu items sourced locally and grown organically at The Farm at Old Edwards. Dine indoors year-round or outdoors in the warm months at the Wine Garden beside th
Excellence service and great atmosphere highlight this romantic restaurant in a Relais et Chateaux property in downtown Highlands. There is a wonderful outdoor dining area, but we chose to eat inside. The emphasis is on farm fresh ingredients from the vegetables to the herbs. The bacon-wrapped quail was an excellent appetizer and I enjoyed the chef's "composed" halibut, which is his creation for the day. My wife really enjoyed her duck confit. Excellent wine list and you don't have to wear a sports coat here. Great service too.

Lovely Evening. As starters we enjoyed the Wedge Salad and the Dusted Fried Oysters. Ample Blue Cheese/dressing on the salad made it savory and delicious. The Corn dusted oysters (small) were tender. and plated attractively. We were unsure whether the oysters had been chopped/halved or were just small. Entrees included a Redfish Special, the Grouper Maison and the NC Rainbow Trout. Redfish was flavorful- well executed. A thick cut meaty fish, it was a generous "fish-steak" cut portion. Grouper Maison--a favorite of many -- is flavorful, tender and well seasoned. NC Trout was tender and gently cooked--although plated with tiny sides and was a skimpier plate that the other entrees. Service was excellent, attentive and congenial. We sat outside in the garden-- which was pleasant, quiet and perfect at this time of season. We'll plan for an earlier reservation so we can linger over dessert next time. We will be back. Very nice evening!

Delicious Euro-Mediterranean cuisine, served in our delightful cool canopy garden or the mountain contemporary dining room. Chef-owned and operating in the Highlands market for 20 years. Meritage is located two blocks off main in a peaceful mountain locat
The ambiance is cozy inside, but the patio needs a little more twinkle lighting and landscaping-the floor is mulch! Food was good, but not great. Wine list was very nice. My friend had a piece of plastic in her entree. With a little more effort, this could be a very special place.Thank you Jujubean4 for your review and dining with us. Our garden area is located in the crucial watershed area of the plateau and is designated as protected green space, as such we are limited to mulch or rock which allows rain to permeate. We have chosen cedar mulch for about 10 years now as it does an amazing job deterring pesky little bugs. We look forward to your next visit!

The crab cake was moist, tender, and delicious. The hummus plate was tasty. The Rib Eye Steak was unique, although the included fries were good, but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere and conversation was unique! Service was prompt and courteous.
