I almost never eat "fast food" and rarely eat at chain places. I have been to Hernando about 6 times in the last year and one day had a late lunch ate at Captain D's. I was pleasantly surprised. It was very clean and the staff was great. They offer healthy seections as well. My last visit I had fish with cole slaw and broccoli and it was consistently good. This is one of the best "fast food" places I have tried.

I stopped here the other day for the first time. It is in a nice little building right off the town square with a small sign so look close for it but once you find it you will love it. They offer cafeteria style offerings. They had several meats and vegetables to choose from. I chose the country fried steak, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. You have choice of bread also. The food was piping hot and very delicious. I didn't know what to expect when I walked in but I am sure glad I did. It was less than $10 for 1 meat, 2 veggies, bread, and drink. I am spreading the word about this hidden gem!!!!!

We have been here a couple of times and really love the burgers. They do offer other sandwiches as well but no french fries. The have potato wedges and other sides that are really good. Prices are reasonable and continue to eat here. Not much for sitting on the inside and a few tables on the outside.Thank you for your review of the Burger Shop.. seating capacity is 20 seats inside and 32 plus seating outside.

Memphis Street Cafe is now The Underground Cafe. The owners may or may not be the same, but the food is definitely not the same as before. On previous visits my wife and I have enjoyed delightful meals, including some memorable shrimp and grits. On this occasion, I ordered a French onion soup and Chipotle cheese grits. The soup was definitely not French and was barely onion soup. The topping of the soup was a piece of plain white bread with a slice of swiss cheese which had been melted under a broiler. The server tried to convince me that this aberration was a crostini. The grits dish was also awful. The grits were undercooked and grainy, definitely not creamy. Grated cheddar cheese was lumped on top of the grits instead of being mixed into the disahduring preparation. The other diners were similarly disappointed with their dishes, with the lone exception of the Patty melt which I was told was "pretty good." Don't go to this restaurant if you want a fine dining experience. You will surely be disappointed.

My wife and I went for dinner on a weekend. Quaint place nothing special, just a cafe. mismatched chairs, not a place of comfort. Early dinner visit. Two other tables of diners. I had prime rib and the wife had a Cajun pasta dinner. The whole time that we were there, there was two radios playing at the same time. Example, one was playing Journey in the dining room and the kitchen’s radio was playing Black Sabbath. Two totally different radio stations. The wait staff were walking around doing their thing and singing to the radio. One kept yelling at the owner/manager about, “what does Oscar mean.” And how do I put it on the dry erase wall menu. Obnoxious to say the least. Totally unprofessional! The food is good but we will not be back for the circus atmosphere.

Located on the super cute, family friendly Hernando square. You can eat inside or outside. There is a bar but it is separated from the main dinning room so it's ok to take in small children. The deep dish pizza is amazing however (WARNING) you will wait quite some time for it. The catfish is my personal favorite! Good atmosphere, nice staff, but waiting on the pizza is slow going.

Two of us split a large Natchez pizza and a small Buom Cibon salad. Plenty of food, took some pizza home. Pizza was good, but half was crispy crust and other half wasn't. Crispy part was really good. Salad was awesome , arugula with blue cheese, apple slices, and nice dressing. Took a little longer than expected to get the food. Should have asked them to bring the salad before the pizza. A little pricey...our lunch was over $30.
