This new place in little Lincoln, Michigan near Harrisville was excellent. Great service by ownerâs daughter. Owner on the premises abd vigilant. Good breakfast menu. They serve lunch and dinner as well. But we havenât been back for lunch or dinner yet, but we definitely will return. Reminds me of a little country village place youâd find in England that you just happened upon. Iâd recommend the Eggs Benedict. They do need to add Orange Marmalade for their toast. Coffee superb as well. Reasonably priced.

We were from Canton, MI. visiting from friends in Oscoda, MI. We decided to have Fatherâs Day breakfast at the Red Rooster and it was EXCELLENT!It was extremely busy, although we didnât have a long wait, we were seated and waitress immediately acknowledged us, stating she would be with us shortly. After a few minutes( she actually apologized for taking so long) took our orders and immediately returned with coffee and tea.We werenât expecting the delicious food and the incredible portions that were delivered! Each person ordered a different menu item, and each person was seriously impressed. The omelettes were huge, pancakes large and delicious, eggs cooked to order perfectly. The waitress continued to impress us with her friendly and courteous attitude! What a wonderful way to begin a Fatherâs Day celebration!

When you get a meal here your mouth will thank you. The food and service are small town wonderful. The atmosphere is quiet and friendly. Once you try their BBQ ribs you will be back. The fresh made pies beckon you to try each and everyone. My favorite being fresh homemade apple pie. Mom you have competition!

Not sure where to begin with Shotmakers - the turnover of staff is unbelievable - every time I have been in there in the last year and half the staff is changed - result of ownership or management? Food has gone down hill, staff/service is terrible. On a recent evening we waited an HOUR for a slider and a burger - while watching other food delivered around us - a problem in the kitchen - thinking so - but then again the server did not even acknowledge the length of this nor check back did we want another drink? Why did we stay - almost became comical - waiting to see what would happen next! The burger was ok - onion rings COLD and greasy; slider the bun so greasy slid off the burger. Having had a decent meal here before we were surprised at what came out of the kitchen - again not consistent. Definitely waiting for the new place in town to open! Will not be back here for food!

I am hesitant to give the Alcona Brew Haus a 4-star rating, but I will anyway. The pro's: good beer selection and pretty good appetizers. The con's: no dry white wines, strange takes on classic sandwiches. The brewmaster certainly knows his craft. Their IPAs are very good with taste, structure, and consistency. Their whitefish spread appetizer is to die for. However, my wife likes wine, not beer, so she is difficult to please when we come to a brew house. She is a white wine fanatic, especially in the Summer. There are no dry white wines on the list. That is strange, especially since a mere couple of hundred miles West across the State it's home to a lot of wineries in the Leelanau and Mission Peninsula areas. A good Black Star Farm Arcturos Dry Riesling or something from Bowers Harbor or Good Harbor would be welcome additions to their list. Back to food . . . a good Cuban is a pork specialty, usually with ham and roast pork loin or pulled pork. The Brew Haus version has smoked brisket and capicole. I know, it's chef's choice, but I didn't like it that much. All-in-all, I like the Brew Haus. Harrisville and the surrounding area need more places to eat and drink. The Brew Haus will continue to be one of my favored choices.

We often visit Harrisville to shop at Northern Accents. We had the occasion to eat lunch at the Flour Garden and were especially impressed with the store that has a very knowledgeable owner and a huge variety of beers. Highly recommend making a special stop here to include dining and selection of beers you never knew existed.
