Horrible experience. They could not accept my card because of a system issue, not there fault, but that doesn't give them the right to be rude and mean about. No sorry we are unable to take these today, or a sorry at all just a blank stare and too bad. I will never return.

Im not a beer drinker but greatly enjoyed the grounds and cold water. Food choices were probably satisfactory for those whoJust wanted to drink. But family were not inspired yet the porches and dining area as well as dining room staff were great. The Mill itself was attractive as was the stream on the premises.I wouldn’t want to miss these grounds but plan on eating someplace else or at least checking out the menu beforehand.

The Mill at Fine Creek

The cabins were expensive! They were beautifully appointed in country chic. Loved the barn style bathroom door and ample porch space. Hidden refrigerator and freezer was nice. The stocked goodies were all included in the price. Our two room unit was cozy with two large restrooms/showers and pleasant living room. There were ceiling fans in each bedroom and large rain storm-style shower heads. Breakfast was not delivered but available for pickup in a jaunty picnic basket each morning. There were many fine choices of artisan foods especially home-style yoghurt, jams and muffins. Juices were quite tasty and again free. The meals l, if so arranged, were in the many-windowed garden style event facility near the mill ruins. Part of the building adjacent and attached is a very handsome structure that includes a manly-appointed log cabin rebuild room with its own kitchen and comfortable chairs. All of it is nicely done. The staff at all of the facilities were superb! They were huge compliments to the handsome structures and natural hilly beauty of the countryside and creekside. The stony Mill remains/ruins made for a great backdrop. The outside wedding options for various-sized events was excellent for dramatic photos with character. The sitting spaces and trails along the creek’s rills and rapids were amazingly beautiful and cared for. There were even natural succulents and mushrooms. There was a downside other than price, some chairs in cabins were not very comfortable and the single buffet that I had was just okay. That could have been our brides choice; but they did try to accommodate vegan and vegetarian guests. The performance of the florist recommended by the Mill was the worst part of the event. I believe they were called Black Iris but they were late, non-compliant with the agreed product and unrepentant when challenged.Overall however it was excellent.

Don't expect to see a sign that says Piedmont while you're tooling your way down route 250 in the Land of Gooch, because there isn't one. There are however two signs, one that says SMOKE and one that says HOUSE. You can enter either from route 250 or from the adjacent side road. The dining room has picnic tables and square tables as well. Nice paintings and photographs of times past dot the walls.I ordered on-line and received the promised ten percent discount. They have lunch time specials too. Nothing fancy here just pulled pork and chicken and beef brisket, Pork spareribs are served only on Fridays and Saturdays and sadly available only as a full rack. Sliced beef brisket is only available on Friday and Saturday. I had a half pound of pulled pork and it lasted me for three different meals. It was tender and moist and was very nicely and fully smoked. As a side I tried the Smoked Mac & Cheese. They tout the fact that it "catches all the tasty drippings". While it wasn't inedible, I found it distasteful with a burnt and greasy flavor. Your experience may vary, but I won't be ordering it again. I had a wonderful brioche bun which was tasty. I also ordered a two pieces of chocolate cream pie one of which was eaten by my wife who found it perfect. It had a nice crumbly graham cracker crust and was topped with whipped cream. They say they're made from scratch. I look forward to trying their corn bread and beans next time I visit. My order was placed, "to go", and was available just shortly after the requested 5PM time, I didn't wait long as they were serving someone seated in the dining room. I guess I could have ordered and tried one of their three sauces but I did not, nor was I asked if I wanted any.Thank you for your visit!I'm delighted that you enjoyed your experience overall. A few of our dishes do have an acquired taste. Our mac and cheese is by far our most popular though. We can hardly keep in in stock some days. Many of my local regulars have taken to calling it "Crack n Cheese". Your feedback is still valuable to me though. You'll LOVE out corn bread. Ask to have a sampler of the beans before you buy them.I regret that you were not invited to help yourself to our complimentary sauces. Please do so on your next visit. We have go cups for your convenience.

Knowing there weren't any good lunch places along the interstate, we decided to head over to hwy 250 on our way back to Charlottesville from Richmond. We stumbled upon this little place and decided to check it out. It was a very good choice. The place is very pretty, well decorated, clean. We were greeted and served by a friendly young woman right away. The food was good. My husband had crab cakes and I went with a chicken bbq sandwich. They have many sides to choose from. The menu is quite varied, from dinner options to hamburgers. I noticed that they also offer takeout family sized meals. Catering is also offered. The best thing about this place is how they make you feel at home. The owner came out to chat with all the guests, making sure everyone was pleased with their food. She was also able to tell some of the local history which was very interesting. There is a little antique shop next-door, making this an even more fun place to stop for a lunch break. Definitely worth finding.

This place is just nasty today. Ice machine doesn't work right so there are cubes all over. I don't believe the tables have been cleaned, or even wiped off in a couple of days. Floor is in need of a broom and mop. I am not even going to look in the rest room. This is what I get when I am in a hurry... 15 minutes and I am still waiting for my food.

This place is a step back in time. Food is a memory of going to Grandma’s on Sunday when I was a kid. Thipey have the option of family style or order from the menu. If you go for family style, you can box up what’s left over for a dollar a box. The fried chicken was very goodies is the roast beef, of course they have home style vegetables that are southern style. (Well done, which is the way I like em). Then as a bonus on Saturday they will include Mac n cheese. Nice every now and then but not what you need if your still trying to stick with a New Years resolution.Enjoy this taste of southern traditions

I visited Eccoti today for the first time. I found the staff to be friendly and personable. The food quality and flavor was excellent. I had the cheeseburger which is a very thick burger. The only draw back was I requested it to be prepared medium rare. It came out medium well which I feel took away from the flavor of the burger. I will try this establishment again.
