Place was pretty empty when we got there, hostess said our waiter had just arrived, but someone else came and all was going well, ordered drinks, very reasonable, and then we sat, and sat, and other people that came after us got their food, and we waited, tried to wave down a server, any server, and I know they saw us and just looked away....finally our server took our food order, and everything was okay after that. I got the penne pasta with chicken, it was pretty good. We were there over an hour.

We decided to pull in to catfish Louieâs /Neu Ranchouse on our way through town because of the crowded parking lot. The building has seen better days but it was full of locals. We tried the buffet and it was delicious. The vegetables were fresh and tasted like homemade. The catfish and sausage were outstanding. We will definitely stop on our next trip through Gainesville.

Stopped in after work to try some of their fajitas served in a hot griddle with peppers and onions. All the fresh made sides like Pico de galo, salsa, grated cheese and sour cream. I ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer which was a perfect preparation for the fajitas. Hi William, thank you for sharing. We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. We hope to see you again soon!

There's one thing for sure about the Neu Ranch House and that's if you leave here hungry it's your fault! They have everything a growing boy needs and then some. The salad bar, cobbler dessert bar, and the assorted Meats, fish, and poultry will keep you coming back for more. The dining room's can accommodate large groups as well.

We like to stop here on our way home from winstar. They have changed owners but as of last Friday, they were still pretty much the same. They are introducing Italian dishes now. We just wanted breakfast. Husband had 1 egg, no meat and biscuits and gravy. Noticed the biscuits are much smaller. I had two eggs poached (no meat) and hash browns. Eggs were perfectly cooked (a lot of restaurants don't offer poached). I really hope the new owners don't change this place much. It's an "everyone knows everyone" kinda place (except for the stragglers like us).

Although the water tastes terrible, the fried pies are really good. I like coconut. Hubby got a breakfast pie that was so so. Wonât order water to drink next time. Must be Gainesville city water. Yuck. Always come back for the cream and fruit pies though. So delicious and fresh.

Atmosphere: Southern CountryCleanliness: Could use some attention. When hostess seated us at a table where a Bissell was leaned against the wall and a large chunk of food was on the floor, she asked if this was ok. I replied there's a bit of mess here- she took the Bissell and left the food. Service: our waitperson, Kim, was so nice. She took good care of us AND picked up the mess left by the one who seated us.Food: One of us got Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and okra.. it was good he said. The other 2 of us got the SMOKED CHICKEN BBQ SALAD and it was absolutely delicious. You gotta try it.

We were lured to Cracker Barrel by the billboards with pictures of their new fried chicken dinner, which was delicious! Perfectly cooked with super crunchy batter! And you get four pieces, which means we have more fried chicken to eat later this week. The vegetables were good too, and I wish I remembered our serverâs name because she was excellent. This is a good Cracker Barrel location.

Quaint restaurant that was previously a saloon back in the day complete with a B&B upstairs that was formerly a brothel (The Shady Lady). The food is delicious and the service is beyond reproach. Definitely put this on your list of places to visit if you are in the Gainesville area.
