Traveling to the Milford House from the Lehigh Valley Area we had a scenic trip along the canal and Delaware River. Crossing the bridge into Milford you'll see a quaint little town. The Milford House is right down the street, an older restaurant that has a substantial menu offering pretty much anything one could want. Our party had the shrimp & grits, duck breast and salmon. Everything was good but what I didn't like was sides and salads were all a la cart. I prefer having those included in the price of the meal like most all restaurants do. Our server was great, he was attentive and very friendly. My rating of poor for the value was only due to items ( salad and vegetable ) that should normally come with a meal were an additional $4 - $8 The a la cart option I'm sure is great for people with smaller appetites.

We visited this place over 25 years ago when they were the first brew pub in New Jersey. We were in the New Hope area and decided to visit again. We were not disappointed. Service was excellent and food was exceptional. I had a salad that was loaded with blue cheese and Brussels sprouts. The local beer choice is varied and we felt sorry to have to limit ourselves to one drink since we were traveling further that day.

I know this place has only been under new ownership a short few months. It is a very rural, local place off the beaten path. Given that, it is full of locals and will be stellar one day. Service is very slow. I think they are still working out the bugs and perhaps need more kitchen help at the least. My huge pet peeve is when someone comes to the area outside of town they always, always tag on an up charge for drinks. Stop it already. We got one grey goose(no, no belvidere)martini up in one of those "new" old cocktail glasses that look like the old champagne flat glasses. Hate them! We got one Ketel WITH tonic, so a mixed drink. There was a $1.00 up charge on both so not the $9.00 on the menu but actually $10.00 each. Not at all worth it. Yes, they are doing a good job on wine pricing but we were not drinking wine. I got the salmon paillard which was on top of greens. A nice amount of salmon but overcooked. Not sure if that was because of the lack of help in the kitchen or a factor in slow service. Hubby got a make your own burger. It looked nicely cooked, he said it was very good. We had one glass of wine for $6. Total bill $67.68 without tip.So you can see there are some newby flaws. I think they want it to be more than just a shot and a beer place. But they need to tighten up a bit. Oh, and no dessert just now but hopefully soon. We will wait a couple of months and try it again. Also, gps has it as Frenchtown even though its Kingwood. Seems to happen alot in that area with gps.Hi Merrywonder,Thank you for the review, and for recognizing the potential in our new establishment. I am not in the habit of responding to online reviews, but I am in the habit of being fully transparent about our pricing and philosophy. I'm not sure exactly what is meant by the comment about an upcharge for an area out of town, but i will try to explain how we (and many other restaurants) price our booze:the charge for an item in the computer is a charge for the item poured neat, or in a highball. For us, it's a 2oz pour (standard pour is 1.5oz). An upcharge is used for drinks when more volume is poured. For example, if you see a charge for "rocks" on a bill, you are not actually getting charged for ice, but for additional spirit. Here we pour 2oz for neat or highball drinks, 2.5oz for "rocks" or "up" drinks, and 3oz for cocktails. Hence the additional charge. Not having seen your bill, i can't comment intelligently, but you should have been charged an additional $1-$2 for the martini (depending on how it was made) and no upcharge for the highball (vodka tonic). If you were, it was our mistake. Please visit us again (we're improving what we do every day and every week), and please ask for me next time you come in. I'd love to say hello.- ben

Went on a Monday night, which is free pool night, and had a good time. We had a variety of apps, such as the bar pie, steamed clams and mozz sticks. All made fresh and delivered hot. Server was spot on and spoke fluent Italian. Who knew....plenty of beers on tap. Also, down the street from the local bowling alley.

We wanted to visit an old haunt, The Frenchtown Cafe, but it had been destroyed by an 18-wheeler making deliveries! Undaunted, we stopped at favorite #2, The Bridge Cafe. What a lovely spot. Service was superb and our lunch sandwiches were inspired. Our tab was $42.

For food and drink...this place is an absolute gem. Not only does the menu constantly change with fresh ideas, the offerings are always delish and fresh. The drinks...really...not like anywhere else. Mike is the best bartender ever...both with his concoctions and friendliness. Just tell him what flavor your in the mood for, and he will make it like nothing you ever tasted. We've kept your feedback on our bulletin board, and even though it's so long since you wrote, I thought I should let you know that all these months later, your words continue to validate our staff's dedication to our patrons. Reviews such as yours continue to make our team's efforts to exceed our patron's expectations, that much sweeter. Thank you again for sharing your comments with the TripAdvisor community.

Closed for renovations.
Very attentive service staff, our omelets were very good, the atmosphere was friendly and what you'd expect in a small town but they pack people in like sardines. I enjoyed the company of three people I was elbow to elbow with but if I hadn't, breakfast would have been a bust. Certainly worth a try but wait for a both!

Having convinced my wife to play hooky for the day, we took a ride along the Delaware river to Frenchtown, NJ & stumbled on the Frenchtown Inn. The staff that greeted us was friendly, courteous and immediately showed us to a cozy corner of the dining room. There dining room was tastefully decorated in colonial fashion with 2 fireplaces and a number of good photo print pictures of the area on the walls. Service was pleasantly prompt and pleasant. My wife enjoyed the snapper tacos 7 I the pea soup & the Caesar salad. All was fresh and delicious. A shared Creme Brulee and coffee was a topper to the great meal. This is another fine inn along the Delaware we will visit again now, for dinner.Thank you for your review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your dining experience with us. We strive every day to make everyone feel welcomed, happy, and satisfied. Appreciation for quality food and hospitality is gratefully received. We hope that we will see you again soon!

Very comfortable, eclectic atmosphere suitable for anyone, including couples, families, or groups. Combined vegan, meat-eater menu with range unique offerings. My wife and I opted for the former for our appetizer (Messa plater) and entrees (Eggplant Meatballs, Sweet Potato Special), finding everything incredibly fresh, perfectly prepared and tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. Good parking.
