O'Kellys Irish Pub is a typical Irish pub outside of Ireland. Really busy and suited for tourists. They serve your typical Irish pub beers (Guinness, Kilkenny...) but also some local craft beers from Braukollektiv. Sports on the screens.

Read reviews and locals had said we should try it. Frankly it is not great. Compared to burgers I've had in Ireland recently this doesn't even come close. Burger was bland. Meat was not great in my opinion. Fries were poor. Frozen chips refried it seems. V greasy. Look, maybe we hit it on a bad day but it just did not hit the spot for me.

I've been to this place three times, the first time was amazing in the general sense of service, quality of food and ambiance. The second time the quality of food had been a little bit disappointing, but my third and last time was a real miss. I usually come here to have confort tasty food in a pleasant ambiance to relax. However our nachos came with barely any cheese, the biscuit was dry, the sauce too salty and the mac and cheese was far from special. The fried chicken was the only thing decent.Also the service was cold and not really friendly. And on top of this two kids were allowed to use the whole restaurant as a playground, screaming, running and more screaming was not what I had in mind for a relaxing diner.

Food was good, in particular meat (friend to cooking point you wish) and patty were of high quality.The Ketchup on the tables is of noticeably lower quality, it does not match the other ingredients.The weakest point is service: Cash-only is not acceptable in the year 2017 if you are for two people on average around EUR 30.-. Also charging 1EUR for packing for takeaway is not appropriate at this price structure. There are 4 tables, none of them more than 4 m from the counter - and they ask you to return plates yourself while they stand around with 3 people watching you. I worked in service for many years, that's a no-go.In conclusion: Good food, mediocre service - gives "average". A shame, the food has potential.
