We arrived at an off time in the afternoon on Wednesday afternoon, one other table.... cocktails were bland, I had a mojito, was weak and bland, no actual bartender, the waitress was maybe 21 at most and she was the bartender..... $7.50 for basically mint flavored water. I had the panko shrimp tacos which were actually really good, the other person in my party had the cod fish and chips, both the fish and the fries were ICE COLD and soggy but looked burnt... they brought out a second plate after mentioning it, same result, ice cold and gross.... the bill was $55 for lunch! I've been to fine steakhouses and supper clubs where I wouldn't bat an eye at paying that because the food is top notch! We won't be going back and it's sad, Winona is limited in good options, and this place could be something great, great view and atmosphere, but really weak in the most important area.... This is why we personally leave Winona if we want fine dining..... too many disappointments
I know they are new to this location, so I hope with time things will get on the right track. We really wanted to like it, but we were all disappointed with the food. It wasn't awful, but everything was bland. Our server was a really nice. I'm sure he'll get even better. I did notice inconsistency with drinks. I had a white wine that was a very small pour. I saw another server with a pre-measured carafe that looked more like the proper amount. I did notice a bad smell in the restaurant, a couple others noted it too. I'm guessing it's the old carpet. Next time I'm in town, I'd like to try it again. I hope they can get all the kinks worked out.

We had eaten here previously and liked it well enough to come back. This was a major disappointment. I asked the waiter about the beer list and he said he didn't know anything about it. I asked about whether they had a brown ale - he didn't know anything about it. I wound up googling the beer list. About 3/4 of the selections were IPA's or ciders. There were no offerings from local breweries so I had a Stella. I can get that at home, but at least it was one I liked. My wife wanted a Moscow Mule, so she went and read the promotional flyers in the entrance. Our waiter provided no useful suggestions or advice. When our meal was delivered, it looked like it had been up for a while. My wife had a fish sandwich, so she asked for tarter sauce. He did get it promptly. He vanished until he brought the bill - too bad, the Stella was all right and I would have ordered another one if he had come around. The food was average (3 stars), but the service was terrible, (1 star) so the overall review is 2 stars. There are a lot of choices in Winona, so give this place a miss. It is mediocre.I'm so sorry the service was lacking on the day you were here. I will definitely look into this. I appreciate your review so that we can try to get this corrected.

The good, the soup (chicken dumpling) was home made and fantastic. We also had burgers, hot beef and a wrap. Pricing was around 10.00 for most items give or take 2.00. Staff was nice but not overly quick. Breakfast menu looked good and could be ordered any time. Specials in the am for breakfast and lunch/ dinner specials. Was nice to pick your side if you didnt want fries and not a extra charge. The bad the wrap was grilled, really would prefer my lettuce not be hot. Food was average but the soup was better than the rest of the food
Anacabes Little Kitchen in Goodview, Minnesota, is a nice, small, community restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast menu isn't huge, but it has what you want on it. The hash browns were perfect, soft and crispy. The eggs were made to order. The ham in the omelet and the sausage and bacon were great. And our breakfast came with a buns small slice of delicious banana bread. Now, I'm curious to try their broasted chicken and some of their other lunch specials. A friend recommended this place to us. We liked it and we will be back.

We wouldâve liked to have dinner here...but weâre rudely turned away by the bartender at 9:45 pm (about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed). We were told that we had one minute to order when the sign outside clearly indicated that the kitchen closed at 10 pm. After spending 4 hours at the pool for a swim meet, we just wanted to eat dinner so we could get back to our hotel for some rest. Unfortunately I donât think weâll ever eat here after being treated so badly by the bartender.

I had a walnut, cranberry salad with chicken. Very good. Other people had sliders and soup and commented on how good they were. Our waitress did a very nice job.

This is the best place in winona to grab a delicious soup, coffee, tea, desert, salad, or sandwich. They even have quiche and other breakfast items like yogurt and granola and oatmeal. The staff is extremely efficient and kind. My favorite salad is the Pear and Greens salad with their maple mustard dressing. Their egg salad is delicious and their italian sandwich is wholesome and filling. I go here at least 1x a week and don't plan on stopping. When friends visit from out of town, this is where I always take them for lunch!
Where to Eat in Fountain City: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Visiting the area. If you looked up "Wisconsin Bar'n Grill" in the dictionary they would list this place. L Shaped bar with a collection of tables against the wall. Outdoor seating, but not open for that on slower weekdays. Beer selection was decent with some notable varieties. Ordered fried food, me: fish sandwich and wife did this huge deep fried appetizer (onion rings, curds, shrimp, potato skins). Enough grease here to slide all the way to Toledo, but it's what we ordered. Very pleasant bar keeper with ready smile. Service was good. Food was alright and nothing more than was was expected. People next to us were eating salads that looked pretty decent. Cost is reasonable and much below the TGIF chains. Felt pretty much welcome and would return.

An 1894 tavern and restaurant with original bar, back bar and furnishings. Ongoing restoration and expansion since 1995 has brought the glory and beauty of this historic building and business. The Menu celebrates the owner's Irish ancestry and family reci
It begins with the welcoming walkway up to the restaurant door, warmly inviting you to come inside. Then you are greeted with high ceilings, dark wood and Irish memorabilia adorning all the walls. Our friendly server/owner made us feel so at home with his humor. I ordered their "Bubbler and Squeak" which was delicious mashed potatoes and cooked cabbage and corn beef. But the best was the Jameson and home-made ginger ale drink-smoothest drink ever! Don't just drive by this Irish gem in Fountain City, WI!
