Had a lovely dinner at the recommendation of locals. We were not disappointed.Agree with other comments regarding initial impression of the space itself-donât let that fool you. The food is very good.Enjoyed the Brie and carmelized onion flatbread as a shared starter. The salmon with asparagus was flavorful and moist. The roasted duck with hericot vert was tender and had a subtle yet sweet heat. The buttermilk mashed potato was a perfect accompaniment to both. Service was friendly and the kitchen very efficient. There is a small yet nice (and very reasonably priced) wine list.We enjoyed our meal, and a beautiful dessert, very much. Make a reservation and try it!

At Highwheeler Coffee we intend to create community around an appreciation for hand crafted coffee and tea beverages in a comfortable and inviting space.
This is a wonderful addition to Fort Plain. We decided to meet here before we set out on an antiquing adventure. What a great find tucked away in this little town. There were a few varieties of pastries, but with time and popularity of this growing coffee shop I'm sure there will be more in the future. I tried the chocolate mousse cake while my sister had the baklava. So good! We were told that the desserts we chose were made on premises at the Farm to Table restaurant next door. While you enjoy your treats and coffee, be sure to check out the ecclectic artwork and classic books for sale as well.

This is a very basic family-run diner. Stick to omelets and maybe a BLT. We were in town to visit the boiling pot swimming holes and the Arkell Museum. We should have brought a sandwich to the swimming hole. Only cash. BTW, we ordered the cream cheese omelet only to learn it has ham in it. Do you think they can put that on the menu instead of waiting to have another one made?

First visit of the season, as good as ever! Weâve been coming for years; really love the 100+ year old menu, atmosphere, great service and high quality food. Sorry to hear the hosts are putting the Hotel on the market, but theyâve given 40 great years! If you havenât tried, this is the year to stop by. Open through Columbus Day weekend or thereabouts.

This is not your typical Hot dog stand. Pete, Tepee Pete is just a guy with a pot of chili and a dream. Serving roadside eats, outside dining only. Only open seasonally May to October.
The four of us enjoyed a lunch sharing quarters of 4 burgers: Blue cheese w/mushrooms; Philly Cheese; Buffalo Wing; BBQPete's enthusiasm is contagious and the store is fun to shop in while you wait for your food. The view and setting are a charming step back in time.
