Discover Restaurants offering the best American food in Flora, Illinois, United States. Flora is a city in Clay County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,070 at the 2010 census.
For a fast food the only variable is the service and it was good. Nice people make a nice visit especially when you are tired. The food was Subway standard short on the meat great on the veggies.
I love Chinese Buffets and eat whenever I travel. I also go to neighboring towns just for the Chinese food. Compared to the area's 5 closest towns Flora's is average. Compared to Chinese Buffets in North Carolina and Champaign Illinois it is in a group that is average with a relative small selection. The best time to eat here is 11:30 AM. Compared to other restaurants is in the top 2.
This restaurant is my go to anymore, trying to eat better, without all the fried foods. Subway makes a pretty good sandwich which makes me happy. The staff are friendly, and always willing to suggest additional toppings or additions to your sandwich based on either their own or other peoples liking. I have made a few attempts at new dressings and topping combination which have left me happy. The staff are always quick to get you in and out of the store, also will suggest when they have a deal going on where you can save some money on a drink, or chips and a cookie.
This is a great place to eat if you want fresh, delicious, homestyle food. Open to the public Sundayâs and at lunch time daily, otherwise membership required. Membership prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

Not many choices for dinner in this town unless you want fast food. After reading the reviews I decided to try for myself. The place seems big and clean. It's a little confusing when you first walk in because there seems to be two entrances. The one I picked did have a sign to please wait to be seated but someone came up from the back bar to seat me. The area I came in looks like it used to be a candy shop that did not quite make it as part of the business. The service was slow for the place not very busy. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak dinner. My steak was cooked as I ordered but not a lot of flavor, I also had a vegetable mix and a cup of soup for my sides. I did not get my soup before my meal so all my meal was not overly hot while I finished my soup. The soup did not taste like it was homemade. I also ordered sautéed mushrooms and onions for an additional $2 which I would not order again as you didn't get a very big portion for the cost.I would have rated lower but the server was friendly and she did check on me several times. Overall I would probably not come back if in the area again.

A small 60's style diner, specializing in plate lunches and speedy service to everyone! Dine-in and Carry-out available.
I think the most telling thing about this place is that it is usually hard to get a seat. There are like 6 tables and 8 seats at a counter and any time I've been here all are full most of the time.My parents eat here a lot. I think they like the burgers (Bobs I think, but it predates the tv show). The also like the specials. The beef Manhattan (hot roast beef sandwich) looks good. I always get the fried chicken. The pieces are a little small, but I think that might be better than those freakishly large chicken pieces you sometimes see. It is always cooked to order so it is hot and fresh (but that means there is a bit of a wait for it)

Overnight stay in Flora and wanted to avoid the chain restaurants. This was a perfect choice. Restaurant has a very broad menu, lots of tables, plenty of Mexican beers (bottle), and wow - low prices! I had the Enchiladas Verdes which were very good (okay, maybe a bit salty, but I'll given them that.) Chips and salsa as a starter. Service was friendly and fast. Food was hot and fresh and excellent. It's a great local option. I came at 7:45 on a Tuesday night and lots of others came after me. Great place!
