My wife and I were staying near the restaurant and had lunch here one afternoon. The location is beautiful. We both had the Mahi Mahi fish sandwich. The sandwich was by far one of the best meals we had during our stay. It was melt in you mouth good.I did read the reviews from other travelers who had issues with Mark. I can only speak of our experience which was very good. We had some good conversations with Mark and he does drink while working. So I can see how issues might arise. If you are in the area give it try....especially the fish sandwich.

This place is great and the prices are good. The cracked conch with fries was a huge portion and the batter was perfect! My husband had a burger and enjoyed it as well. Enjoyed sitting on the picnic benches while waiting for the food. We will be back!

Local Bake Shop specializing in native baked goods as well as international pastries.
Wow, what a find, Excellent breakfast items, sticky buns are a must. They just added new breakfast items which include egg dishes. All really good. I tried something on their new menu, Tuna and Grits, sounds odd but really, really good! I wish I went here more than just the one time we made it.

Eating out can be very expensive in the Bahamas. However, finding where the locals go to eat can save you some cash.Recommended: Yes for very casual dining. It's not fancy, but the food and prices are great compared to many other restaurants on the islandPROS* Prices are some of the lowest on the island* Lobster Quesadillas are fantastic* Large menu selection including fresh pies and ice-creamCONS* Not fancy / Just a regular small "diner" type restaurant * No views of the water

We had read about Tippyâs before arriving and Nigile from our resort also recommended dining here. The restaurant definitely had local flavor and it faces the ocean, beautiful view. We dined here twice while on the Island and it not disappoint. The local seafood was excellent, and the lobster was prepared exquisitely. The conch fritters were also delicious. The Mahi Mahi, and seafood bouillabaisse was absolutely delicious. They had carrot cake which is my favorite dessert was scrumptious. The girls had a chocolate coconuts cake that was also fantastic. Now I will finish with a warning, if you decide to dine here come prepared with big spray as the bugs are pretty intense. Bring bug spray with deet or Johnsonâs Baby oil that seems to help. Enjoy

We just came for a late lunch on our way to Governors Harbor...we had conch fritters, Asian salad, jerk shrimp wraps and shrimp tacos. A couple of drinks. Restaurant overlooks the infinity pool and cove, and is bright and sunny. Service was good. About $100 for the 3 of us. It's a hike down to the restaurant from the valet area if you have mobility issues, fyi, but worth it for the view.

This was probably the last expensive meal we have had in 2.5 mths. in the Bahamas! One visit we had the conch fritter appetizer. Maybe it was just us but they were quite gummy inside and tasteless. On another visit we had the cracked conch sandwich and a grilled fish sandwich. Those were both small but pretty good. We had a difficult time finding the building as they had no signage and we had to ask strangers which building it was in.

The 1648 - An Island Restaurant is the beautiful indoor/outdoor restaurant at the new boutique French Leave Harbor Village. Executive Chef Merez Culmer is committed to serving with his professional team, only the finest Island cuisine at reasonable prices
This is the restaurant at the French Leave Resort which we were staying at. The hostess and staff were excellent. They were very attentive throughout our whole meal. The food was excellent from there conch fritters to their scallops appetizers. The fish with rice and peas, shrimp and conch pizza to their guava duff(Bahamian dessert must try) were scrumptious. If I was to critique anything is they could have a better bar selection, but when in The Bahamas rum is king. Overall, highly recommend dining here while in Eleuthera. Enjoy

Was really looking forward to going to this place after hearing about it. We got there ordered drinks and order of very much anticipated conch fritters! Dinner was ordered after drink/fritter order placed. Drinks came, dinner came but after at least 20 minutes waitress came by and said âdid you get your conch fritters(which I hadordered as my meal.)âNope and even after going back to kitchen it took another them another 10 minutes for them to come. They were delicious but just kinda killed vibe of dinner, which was me sitting with zero food while others dinner on table for quite a while. The french fries that were shared with me while I waited were super good. They had good happy hour drink deals from 5-7.

Hit this place on our way back from the southern part of the island. Glad we stopped! Some places on Eleuthera are rather deceiving based on reviews but this place didnât disappoint. Menu was a bit limited but it was very good. Recommend the conch bites. Also the drinks were very good! Great place to catch the sunset! The prices were also very reasonable compared to most places on the island.
