At Smoke & Rye we are devoted to craft food & drink, bringing the unique taste of America to the UK. Let us lead you into the land of succulent smoked meats, tangy sauces, rockin' rubs and smokin' liquors. â
Went for a family meal 6 of us and the food is beautiful. I had to wait a wile for my starter of baby ribs and was taken off the bill because of this but was worth waiting for. I then had the Mac and cheese was a massive portion and was so tasty with bread and bits on the side, I ordered sweet potato fries on the side but was too much to eat. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere will be returning soon.

A traditional pub in the centre of town, offering renowned burgers and great live music. Not to mention the best Guinness in town.
It was the best in stafford and then unfortunately under new management it list it's way but now back in good hands producing fantastic food...surprisingly light given the portion size which shows the quality I think. Very fortunate to call this my local pub...great food always great company and happy to give a positive review (noone asked me to)

I visited The Bear with my family for the first time earlier today. I wasn't impressed, to be honest. The customer service was a little underwhelming. A meal deal wasn't put through the till properly, forcing one of us to go back and rectify at the till. There were no onion rings available with the steak/chips/peas. In a lot of pubs I've been in, any item not on the menu does result in at least being offered a slight reduction for that particular meal. Many do like to have onion rings with a steak, I was surprised there weren't any available around midday to 1pm, roughly the time we visited. The food and drink was fine. It wasn't very hot, but it was fairly enjoyable.Overall, an experience that hasn't been as enjoyable as other pubs. We probably wouldn't visit again.
