I had lunch during a business trip a few months ago. The meal, a sandwich, was so-so. I vowed to return and try something else, like pizza (of all things).Fast-forward to the present day - or shall I say evening. I had dinner at Papa's Pizza amid the cacophony of running, screaming children. I ordered a pepperoni pizza. It came out about 20 minutes later, piping hot. It looked very appetizing with plenty of cheese and pepperoni. I dug in.The toppings tasted as good as they looked. The crust - not so much. This was not fresh pizza dough. To be clear, it was perfectly serviceable. But the pie would have been extraordinary if it had been made with fresh dough. Glad I gave this place a second try. I was right when I said that pizza must be the strong suit here.

This café is taken over under new ownership when I ordered a fried chicken, I asked the waitress please not to burn my food this time, she delivered the fried chicken and immediately I spotted it as burnt and it have a very strong burnt cooking oder, I tried to flag the waitress down to tell her about the burnt food and I had to wait 15 minutes as it appears she deliberately ignoring me to catch her and to explain that the food is burnt but she denied it was burnt.I honestly don't know why she burnt my food on purpose, I don't know her at all but she knows I request her NOT to burn my food when I ordered it then she did it anyway. It's not that hard to follow customers request but to revenge on a customer's request I don't know why? I been there two previous times under the new ownership and all my fried food is always brunt and first time I ordered it the meat inside the fried food was a bit icy cold as if the ice is melting inside while it was darker.I was a regular visitors for many years before the new owner took over, the previous café puts out perfectly cooked light brown fried food but then the new owner seems to find their food dark brown all the time.With that waitress insulting and mocking me as a customer, I won't go there anymore and strongly suggest no one to go there, save your money these people have no pride in this business providing quality food or services to customers.They refused to refund the ticket and they never apologized for their demise.I felt sorry for this business and won't shape up to please their customers.I am sorry you feel this way. You ordered a product that is meant to be crispy (fried chicken) you didn't even taste it to see if it was cooked properly (which it was) we actually took pictures of it after you refused to accept it. We sell a LOT of the exact product that you are referring to and you are the only person who has ever complained about it. Except for the occasional time where the product is not heated thoroughly (as you mentioned happened to you previously)I am certain the waitress didn't deliberately insult you. She is always polite and I am relatively certain she was with you as well. I am not blaming you, and I am not making excuses for our server, but you are making remarks that are blatantly false and accusatory about our facility and our staff.As for apologizing, it would be odd for us to apologize for doing nothing wrong. Fried chicken is meant to be served crispy, and it needs to be cooked thoroughly. I admit that fried food is often dependent upon the quality of the oil. Due to our high volume, we change our oil every fourth day. So the likelihood of providing a poor quality product is significantly reduced by our diligence to change our oil regularly.I am sorry you are disgruntled with our establishment, but I do not appreciate your remarks when they are blatantly false.

On a recommendation, I ordered the seafood chowder as a starter. Hearty, flavorful, and delicious!It came with a wonderful piece of warm homemade cornbread. As the main, I ordered the Alaska bowl. Delicious!

During my recent visit to Prince of Wales Island, a daily stop at this great bakery & cafe was mandatory :)). Fresh loaves of bread, muffins, fruit tarts (my favorite), and breakfast/lunch are offered here... and they serve Kaladi Brothers java as well. This place is open at 7am for early risers, and there's lots of seating inside too... enjoy! We were happy to serve you. Hope to see you on your next visit to the island.
