The food was good, the staff is friendly and helpful, but on both of my visits - about two weeks apart in March 2016 - the place simply was not clean.. Tables had crumbs, grease and in some cases left over cups, utensils and plates. The floors needed to be cleaned and the area around the soda fountain was dirty the first time and dirtier the second time. The place has potential, but staff needs to be trained to clean the place, or additional staff needs to be added to clean the place. Steve Wolfgram
The only good thing is the cholula sauce on the table everything is cold and the staff is terrible how this dump gets 5 star reviews is beyond me

2nd year we've been here for an.early dinner . Food is delicious and the service is great! There is usually 6 of us and we always make early reservations. The service is great, and the food is wonderful. Their beer and wine selection is also very good. Hoping to come back so we can sit outside by the water and watch the boats go by.
The young man, Jacob, who took our order was very nice and smiled the whole time. You could tell he really likes his job. The food was brought to our table and it was delicious. We even went back up for desert. Yay, Jacob!
We four (older) women biked across Illinois and were always happy to find amenities close to the trails. This Subway beckoned from just 100 feet or so from the I&M Canal Trail. The location was clean and the people friendly. There was plenty of seating for us and the many other patrons. The servers were cheerful and generous with the extras on your sandwich. I ordered the $5 special: turkey with pepper jack cheese and lots of toppings. It came with chips. Filled me up well. You can usually depend upon a Subway to be good and this location did not disappoint.

A nice place with a typical pub menu, good beer selection and plenty of screens. They have the Impossible Burger and a couple other vegan options. Thanks for the kind words!Best regards,Joe

This is a clean, cozy place that everyone should know about. The food is comforting and generous. The waitstaff which includes the proprietoress are as welcoming as can be. Come here often enough and you will be greeted by name. The only thing missing is a fireplace, a good book and my slippers. We wish them continued success. cm

Food was pricey yet good. The place was way too cool, we asked for the fan that was directly above us to be turned off, our waitress appeared very annoyed. Service wasnât appropriate, the waitress seemed very frustrated by the fact that we came to eat a late lunch with 4 kids. She was very impatient with us and rude when asked questions of.

We are an eclectic casual restaurant that has sauteed, grilled and fried shrimp, many types of fish and fried chicken as well as chicken tenders. Our fried fish, shrimp, alligator, frog legs and chicken are lightly breaded fresh and we cook in 100% sunflo
Came here on a Thursday evening. Only about 4 tables filled including ours. Same person waiting all tables, doing carry out orders and running register. Almost all tables were dirty. Ordered blackened grouper. No flavor at all. Smashed cauliflower was cold. Three tiny hush puppies served with meal were very over cooked. Other member of party ordered fried shrimp and was then told they had run out of cocktail sauce. In a seafood place, really? Bill was not correct so had to fix that as well. Very disappointed. Likely wont return.

Cookies, in atmosphere, is dark. There is only dim lighting and no windows, and consequently feels like a restricting black box. The bread selection was limited to crackers and the miniature packaged bread sticks. Although I did not try any of their alcohol, their soft drink selection was wide enough, and the lemonade was satisfactory. For appetizers I ate their mac-n-cheese bites and potato skins. The mac-n-cheese bites were basic and fried, but otherwise tasted good. The potato skins, however, had burnt edges. There was little seasoning and the potato itself was dry. After ages of waiting for food, I finally received my steak. It looked crusty, if anything. The steak was not a quality piece of meat. One side of it managed to be much more rare than I ordered it, and the other side felt burnt, possessing a crispy hole on the left side lined with entirely burnt meat. The only flavor from the steak was the flavor of whatever unclean surface they may have cooked it on.My father, as this was a family visit, ordered one of their different steaks (although I forgot which one exactly, there are only 3 options available on the menu). He had allowed me to try some, as he saw I disliked my steak, and much to my dismay, it tasted similar to the one I ordered. The difference was that this steak was soft and appeared grey, and tasted odd for a piece of meat.My side was a double-baked potato. It was not worth raving about, as it had a sour-tasting "cover" to it. The potato itself was dry and the filling had an incredibly grainy texture, and was likely frozen previously. The waitress we had was inexperienced. Somebody must start somewhere, and it is a small town, but for dining this expensive it was odd to see somebody who appeared to have little experience.I wish I could rate it a 0/10. My father felt robbed after spending 60 dollars on steaks that made us both want to vomit. Apparently the fried chicken is good, but I will sadly not be going back any time soon. It is much too expensive for the quality of the atmosphere, food, and services.
