Gourmet Grub is a food truck located in Hessel. We offer an affordable menu varying in different cuisines.
You might be tempted to pass up this food truck (or maybe you won't even notice it) as you're passing through Hessel, but I assure you, it's worth the stop. This isn't just any food truck...it's the real deal. Fresh, delicious, and friendly. They serve a variety of wrap sandwiches (a Greek gyro, a Korean-inspired wrap, local whitefish tacos, among others) and homemade fries (the Greek ones are my fave!). It's the best quick meal in the Eastern U.P.! The owners are hard-working and so friendly. They always greet you with a smile and a kind word. I really love this place!

We were in the Hessel area and visited the beach there (great beach, by the way). We wanted a relaxing place for dinner, and found this pub just around the corner. As far as pubs go, it's very good. Food was typical pub, but a little better (fish tacos and perch po'boy were excellent, as were the chicken tacos). The famous Islander Fries were a hit - delicious french fries with pulled pork over them... Yum!Service was good, prices were very reasonable, and we had a nice dinner.

What a wonderful place! Great concept of farm to table restaurant with students preparing/serving at the end of their culinary experience. The choices were varied. Each chosen food was presented beautifully with garnishes of mint, edible flowers, etc The flavors of every item were excellent. The chicken and mushroom pasta was so flavorful and good. We also tried a whitefish cake with microgreens garnish that was moist and flavorful. The dessert was panna cotta with blueberries and shaved frozen maple cream. Creamy and wonderful. We loved this experience and hope to come here again. Its a "don't miss" destination! Enjoy! Really a delightful experience.
We offer a wide selection of fresh and smoked Great Lakes fish, seafood, Michigan craft beer, decadent cheeses, and artisan breads. Try our homemade Whitefish Dip and unique sauces flavored to capture the adventure that is truly Northern Michigan.
We stopped in to see what they had and left with bread, smoked fish and a pasty. Fish isfantastic. Didn't get to try any fresh fish. This is not a restaurant.

I love to be on the Upper Peninsula in winter when the hub-ub has died down, the locals remain and the news is all about the doings of U.P. folk. I'm a genuine UP wannabe. It's located on the Four Mile Block Road which is reason enough to check it out. It has the requisite stone bar and cedar log beams. The food is pub grub and good. They have a bison burger straight from a bison farm about fifteen miles up the road. I go for that alone. A surprise bonus on Tuesday--all domestic beers were $1.50. That well could be a winter thing. Summer folks don't need encouragement to leave their dollars.

A person from the Michigan DNR told me about a nice family place to eat. They have a good variety menu and the food was very good. Prices were reasonable andthe service was very good. We all had different dishes and we all liked our meals.

What a great find, just a little out of the way from where we were but so worth it! Spent some time here for the evening and enjoyed great friendly service with good beer and great food. The chicken bacon ranch panni and the bacon burger panni were awesome! The potato mashers were delicious and a nice change to the traditional fries or chips most breweries serve.
