As of the 2010 census, the city population was 1,883. Its motto is the "Gateway to the Oregon Caves", and the city got its name by virtue of its location at the junction of Redwood Highway (U.S. Route 199) and Caves Highway (Oregon Route 46). Cave Junction is located in the Illinois Valley, where, starting in the 1850s, the non-native economy depended on gold mining. After World War II, timber became the main source of income for residents. As timber income has since declined, Cave Junction is attempting to compensate with tourism and as a haven for retirees. Tourists visit the Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve, which includes the Oregon Caves Chateau, as well as the Out'n'About treehouse resort and the Great Cats World Park zoo.

This is one of the worst places I have ever eaten. The food in TV dinners is better than theirs. It was tasteless, had bad presentation and was just plain horrible. On the plus side, the wait staff was friendly and helpful.

This restaurant is located behind the saloon as you enter Cave Junction. They have limited hours (5 to 9), so you will have to plan a little. The prime rib was impressive enough that I e-mailed a picture to some friends. With Sweet potato fries, and some real horseradish, this meal was a great value.
Bobbalou's Burgers is a food cart, so everything is "to go", but they have awesome food, so you don't mind taking it with. They have daily special sandwiches and sweets. Give them a try, you won't be sorry!

So happy we ate lunch here after touring the Oregon Caves National Monument. It was incredible. The diner atmosphere was great--filled with friendly people and awesome smells coming out of the kitchen.Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Honestly, it was one of the best meals we had while touring Oregon, and that is saying a lot.

We are a family restaurant that makes fun pizza and great beer.
The pizza is excellent, they also have craft beer which my son and family love (I am not a beer drinker) they also make their own root beer and Orange cream soda both wonderful. Atmosphere is great, very old fashion pizza place, can eat outdoors.

The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch only. The restaurant on the same floor then opens for dinner after the cafe closes. It is a 50's style diner. We had only milkshakes and they were delicious. There are many flavors to choose from and they are huge. Good for sharing. The cafe is very popular during the day with day visitors visiting the cave as well as hotel guests.

We visited twice in a span of a three day weekend; once at lunch, once at breakfast. Lunch was awesome. Breakfast was beyond hearty....it was magnificent.

The dinner special was fresh salmon and it was completely overcooked and the sides were not so great. My wife ordered the grilled trout and it turned out to be fried. We ordered the reserve white wine and found it to be equally forgettable.

We've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Taylor's Sausage. The breakfast burritos are huge. We had Valentine's Day dinner last year and we really enjoyed it. There was a server for that particular dinner but I don't think there are servers for every meal. We're going back again this year for Valentine's Day since we're locals. The absolute BEST beef jerky!! I've sent gift boxes a couple times and my family loves the sausages! It gets really busy at lunch time so be prepared to wait for your order if you're there during the rush.
