A city of natural beauty, charm, history and western hospitality, this state capital derived its name from Kit Carson, the legendary trapper, scout and explorer. A trip to the city is a living history lesson. One need only jump on the Kit Carson Trail downtown, which passes old mansions, courthouses, a depot and a brewery, to experience a taste of life in the Old West. Also downtown, the State Capitol, built in 1870, offers a look at the birth of Nevada as a state and Carson City as its capital. Other historic landmarks, cultural heritage centers and museums dot the landscape around town, but don't forget your clubs. The city is well-known for the Divine Nine, a group of top-rated area courses designed by pros such as Arnold Palmer, Johnny Miller and John Harbottle and set amid the magnificent Sierra Mountains. After a little golf, gambling or sightseeing, spend some down time at the Carson City Hot Springs. You will emerge feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for more exciting endeavors.

We stayed a couple day and ate practically every meal here. Breakfast is OK. but don't order the Hot Turkey. Stuffing was hard and burnt. Turkey really fatty?? And management could care less. Prime rib and fish and chips were excellent . Slot machines little cold. Can break even.

My daughter and I decided to give Dukes a try before going to a movie. We were greeted at the door by a very nice gentleman at the door who found us seats and gave us menus. He let us know about their Happy hour specials. Next the bartender showed up up. I asked for a wine list and he proceeded to ask us what kind of wine we liked and gave us a run down on what they had and found us both 2 delicious wines that we really enjoyed. We ordered a few appetizers that were great. Our favorite were the beef wellingtons. We were surprised at how friendly the entire staff was, the drinks and food were awesome, and the ambiance was terrific. We will be back!

We joined our friends for dinner as this was their favorite restaurant in Carson City. We selected the Nights Special of Baby Back Ribs which were tender and tasty.a large menu of steaks and seafood selections. Our server Misty provided excellent service throughout our meal. A view of the beautiful grounds surrounding the restaurant was a bonus.

We found this restaurant last night quite by accident. We just moved here and are checking out the local food scene. We are certainly glad we found this restaurant and will definitely go back! The staff was very nice and the food was quite good. They have a very interesting menu. It is not your normal basic food place, but it is far from fancy. It is very eclectic. One pleasant surprise was the live music. We truly enjoyed that! Iâm already drooling for the meal I had last night...oh yea, I have some left! Off to have breakfast now...

Ok, the truth? If there is a Coffee Goddess, she dipped her finger in and blessed this cup of heavenly brew.Stunningly good. But, yeah, that's about it. I assure you, if the Coffee Goddess is employed here, she's paid handsomely, quite handsomely indeed if the price per vanilla breve is any indication.And... there is only one size on offer. A short, disappointingly small size.Overall? Overpriced. Good coffee? Sure, but at that price point I'd expect more product.

Food, atmosphere and service are all great. There is outdoor seating available. The interior decor could use some freshening up, not in style, just a bit worn down. Booth cushions could be restuffed, for example. But itâs clean and the food is great and the building is historic. I have had the French dip and burger and both were fabulous.

We have an annual masters ball tournament with folks traveling from all over Canada and the US. We book Reds every year on the Saturday night outside. This year was especially delicious. Everyone has a fabulous meal and it was a great environment to have a social meal with our crazy group and not bug the other patrons. Great evening!

Very tiny, which we expected. So you will be seated very close to other parties as the owners understandably try to squeeze as many tables as possible in the diner. Service was good, even though they were very busy. No biscuits and gravy on the menu and my husband was disappointed when he saw it was posted as a special on the wall after he started eating his bacon and eggs. I ordered the chili con carne omelette, assuming that it would be chili con carne and not chili con frijoles. It had a good flavor, but kidney beans on a breakfast omelette were a bummer. I did my best to pick them off, but it was loaded with them. Breakfast potatoes were without flavor. Usually hike in the wall diners like this are great, so we were disappointed.
