This place is great value for the money. Around $10 for lunch (or less if you are a senior), and a great selection of pizza, salad, and regular American food. I went for the pizza, and the cashier/greeter suggested that I try the fried chicken. Well, she was spot on. You do not want to miss the fried chicken! It's right up there with the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. And, if you don't like the pizza selection on the buffet, they will make anything on the menu for you. What's not to like?

1St Drive-in in the state of Montana. Authentic 40's diner with its original fountain, counter and cast iron grill. Matt's is known for its 100% ground round hamburgers, homemade fries and ice cream. It has been family owned since 1943, and prides itself
We stopped here on our migration north. Read good reviews. Small diner tucked in off I-90. Seating is 15 counter stools. Looks like an old fashioned soda fountain. Burgers and sandwiches are the primary menu items. Reasonable prices. No credit or debit cards. Local checks only. The burger was delicious and juicy. Choice of toppings. Fresh cut potato fries. Canned soda. We didnât have the malts but the other customers had them and they were good sized. Lots of malt flavors available. Friendly, efficient wait staff. Old fashioned decor that was fun to see. James Beard 2016 medal winner. Clean single restroom. Highly recommend and good support for local business.

The staff at my hotel suggested the Montana Club which was only a few blocks away. The menu has many choices and appears to accommodate allergies. I had a spinach dip to start followed by a steak oscar. The dip was tasty and plentiful. I found an excellent wine list with many favourite california Chardonnays so picked on and was set. My steak was properly prepared and delicious. My server, Jay, was very helpful. In most cities most restaurants are fast food franchises so it was a pleasant surprise to have actually good food and find a place like the Montana Club. Next time through Butte I would come again.

Five of us each had a variety of food and the waiter did very well in handling everything from asking for other items during the dinner to telling us about Butte. He also explained about the sports memorobelia.

We were just driving around town looking for a lunch spot and saw they were open. We were very happy with the very crispy onion straws and great pulled pork sandwich. The mac n cheese side was good. Everything is homemade.Great service and outdoor dining was a big plus.

The Uptown Cafe has daily specials and a four course dinner selection also. The menu is adventurous with everything from beef to pork to duck to seafood. The server was very good about explaining what was available but afterwards we decided we just could not enjoy a four course meal so, I opted for the rib special and my wife selected the artichoke ravioli. Both were excellent. My ribs, done in what I thought was a St. Louis style, were tender and succulent. They were preceded by the caprese salad, a mixture of local tomatoes and a very nice goat cheese. My wife enjoyed her ravioli. Very nice wine selection. Nice atmosphere. Elegant without being stuffy. We watched the four course dinner being served and it was quite a lot of delicious looking food. If you are hungry, go for it.... Plenty of on street, free parking. This restaurant was suggested by a friend who lives in Butte and we are glad we took her advise. A gem.
