Cold food, uncooked sides, terrible service. Always the excuse of âwere busy todayâ. One seats, one takes order, one brings food, one refills drinks...who the heck is your server? And when you do need something like a condiments, refill, complaint of cold food...no one is around. Want a tip? Have one server stick with you and serve.

Located right across from Elon University's campus, this is a very popular spot for college and non-college students. Great pizzas and garlic knots. Also offers specials and focuses on including fresh ingredients and beers from local vendors. There is an ice cream business within the restaurant. Seating available inside and outside. Very friendly and efficient service. Also offers take out.

Five of us dined in the private dining room and what a great dinner. Joshua served so well. The salmon, shrimp and grits, steak and pork chops were enjoyed by all. We split the pimento cheese fritters and espresso chocolate cake. Great client recommendation. Canât wait to enjoy a meal next time I visit. Good reasonable wine list too.

Super decor, large tables available for large groups.Walk up and order at the counter, self service drinks and a few different sauces to choose from, which is nice.Beef brisket sandwich came on a plain, average bun and had plenty of meat, but was "fatty" and not what I expected. Collards were good and the portion size was good, but flavor was "different". There were fresh however, so that was nice.Prices were higher than other bbq places in the area.

We decided to have lunch at Hursey's today. Their posted restaurant inspection rating is 98, which is nice to see. I had their # 1 Combination Plate with Chicken, BBQ, green beans and potato salad. My husband ordered the # 2 Combination with BBQ and Brunswick Stew, coleslaw, and french fries, We were also given a basket with 11 round hush puppies that were about the size of giant marbles. The hush puppies were lightly golden brown and were better than those you get at many restaurants. I got the better meal and deal of the day. I had a large piece of fried/broasted chicken as well as a large serving of pork BBQ. The chicken was nicely fried and was still moist inside. We prefer beef BBQ to pork BBQ, but this pork BBQ had a nice smoky taste to it. The bottle of sauce at your table adds a nice flavor too. The sauce is thicker and tastier than many NC BBQ sauces. My green beans were canned but they had been cooked with onion and were okay. My serving of potato salad was generous and was good, although it needed seasoning. My husband enjoyed his meal although the serving of Brunswick Stew was very skimpy. The stew was served in a small vegetable serving bowl, which is a tiny portion considering it was one of the two meat entrees in a combo meal. Our server was not very attentive during most of our meal. We will probably not return to Hursey's BBQ.

Thoughtfully created, flavorful, scratch made food and drink
We've been hearing about Tangent for creative tacos, and we were not disappointed. The place has a nice brick decor, the staff is helpful, and the food was fresh and delicious. My wife and I shared 4 tacos: a Taco 101 shrimp, a Taco 101 steak, a Spicy Fried Catfish Taco, and a Brussel Truffle Taco, plus two ears of fried corn on the cob (savory). It was fantastic. We'll be back to try some other concoctions - they had many more!

I've been visiting Zack's ever since I can remember while growing up in Burlington. It was always a treat when my dad would take me there! This is one of the first places I go when I come back to Burlington to visit from Dallas. The combo dogs with Zack's Secret Hot Sauce is the way to go! Don't forget your Cheerwine!

We should eat at the Root more often, but because of its location, we usually go only about once a year. We think it is one of the most outstanding restaurants in Alamance County. The atmosphere is casual, but the food is outstanding.

We have had several delicious meals here. This time our daughter had planned a surprise wedding anniversary dinner for us and several friends. We were escorted to a side dining room, which I didnât know existed. Our waitress was great and described the evening specials and answered questions. I had a salmon dish and it was cooked to perfection. In fact, everyone commented how much they enjoyed their meals. Our daughter had a cake brought to the restaurant and the staff brought it out and offered to serve.
