I read a few of the reviews about this place before I booked the last room they had, the operators call it a "Basic" room, and understood that my wife may not think this was going to be her favorite room ever. While the negative reviews would be justifiable, and palatable to me if these basic rooms were, $179, $149, $129, or maybe even $89, but sorry fellow reviewers, at FORTY NINE Bucks, your reviews come across as quite whiny, and even more unrealistic. $49.00! Where do you get a perfect room for that kind of money a half mile from a ski mountain and even closer to snowmobile trails. This is definitely more of a snowmobiler place than a skier place, but the guys that were there were all respectful, and other than the sort of noisy diesel trucks that they warm up outside in the morning (which would probably bother the "thumbs down" reviewers too), there was nothing out of order there. The place was not hospital clean for sure, not even close, and I won't be staying there again if my bride comes along next time, that's for sure, I just want to point out in all fairness that the pricing for this place is about half of the next closest room price for at least 50 miles around, as far as I could find! Although we did not go over, the bar and restaurant that they all "panned" is right across the parking lot, and seemed to have plenty of happy customers, and a small bar that had ample brews on tap for a thirsty evening. And that's all I have to say about that!

Better than expected. Large comfy chairs to enjoy lunch while watching a movie on the big screen in the background. Still able to have a conversation with family and friends. Daily specials were surprisingly tasty. Many bar options but welcoming to kids. Very nice attentive staff. Prices were very reasonable.Trivia and cribbage nights must be really fun.

Yay...they renovated!!! This is typical and consistently good diner food. It's not amazing, but it is your standard diner atmosphere and menu. People are super nice and the hash is very good and the eggs cooked perfectly. We go every summer without fail!

Seafood, burgers, pizza, gluten-free options and dedicated fryers, vegetarian options. Beer and wine, seasonal specials and live lobster.

Service and staff was good, but the food was mediocre. We had burgers and lobster rolls. The lobster rolls were fair. Meat tasted over cooked compared to other lobster rolls around town. The burgers tasted average with not a lot of flavor. The fries tasted odd. Not sure why. If you need to fill your stomach, this place will be fine. Good breakfast restaurant right downtown. Lots of room and friendly service. Prices are good and the choices are plentiful. I’ve only been there for breakfast but I believe they do lunch as well. Plenty of street parking and there is a public lot down the street if you can’t find a space.

Food has improved since previous review. Scallops are fresh and well-prepared. BLT turkey wrap as one of ten under ten dollars at lunch is made with fresh roasted turkey and the right price point. Wait staff is friendly and accommodating. However, rude female manager waited until we were finished lunch and had paid the check until she tried to embarrass us by discriminating and saying that my service dog was not welcome there. This is a place where I go frequently and this was the first time I have run into this woman or this rude and loud harassment violating the ADA at this establishment. My service dog sat quietly and attentively through the entire meal and it wasn’t until we were leaving that the manager apparently even saw him. She clearly was NOT trained. It’s unlikely that I nor the group of ten I was with will ever go back.

Food was good, but $21 for Fish and Chips at lunchtime is really high. The cran-apple cole slaw was the best part of the meal. The ladies room smelled like a dirty mop. It's old, but not clean. The restaurant part was clean, and nicely decorated in old tools. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
