We were very happy to learn that our dog is now accepted on the resort grounds. On a slow Monday afternoon, sat outside for lunch, and were greeted by Berlyn, our server. Downhill from there. Slow to bring cocktails; thereafter, we ordered lunch. After awhile, she returned and asked if we wanted anything else. We noted that we were awaiting our lunch. Oh, she would go check on it. She returned and noted that the staff had dropped it on the floor, and had to remake it. Lunch finally came; food was good.We ordered a second drink; when she returned with the drink order, she noted that my beer was the end of the tapper. It was 2/3 full. WHAT!!When the bill came, there was no comp for the wait time, nor the partially full beer. The tip matched the service.Thank you for taking the to leave your feedback, Tom. We made reservations on line which didnât go through. They seated us immediately with no problem. Our waitress was very good and kept my husbandâs tea glass field at all times which is very important to him. We had the meatloaf and shrimp Gumbo soup. Both were delicious. The collard greens that came with the meatloaf was on the top side. Next time I would probably asked to substitute for a different vegetable.

Food was great but if you are adults without children, be prepared for lots of crying, screeching, etc. or go after 9:00 pm. A long wait (hour to 1.5 on Friday night)...suggest ordering from your lodging and picking up. Worth the wait! We ordered meatballs app, salads, and pizza...all terrific!

Visited here with 2 friends. The atmosphere is great both inside and out. They happened to have live entertainment outside which was nice. Steaks were great and salads were fresh with delicious salad dressings. We also had the appetizer sampler which included oysters Rockefeller and they were delicious along with the crab cakes ! The wine list was quite extensive ! Would definitely go back !

Recommended and owned by the owners of the lovely Gideon Ridge Inn in Blowing Rock, this could not be farther from what we expected when we went for dinner. We were thinking rustic, casual. Parking was almost impossible to start with. Noisy, crowded. A busy bar and a restaurant large and equally busy. But we got a table and our server was delightful. We got our bottle of wine and first course. Very good, but then we asked for extra bread for our mussels and it took half an hour. Our main course seemed as though it would never arrive, so we did something we have never done before. We got up and decided to leave. The surly manager gave us a bill that was discounted, but did not take off our main courses, only 50% off. We disputed that and won. They gave some kind of excuse, but later, at Gideon Ridge where we were staying, we heard that this experience was not uncommon. A shame and shame on the Gideon Ridge owners! Hope they can change this, because the food and bar (probably attracting mostly locals) was good.

We were staying in a hotel on the same road so wanted somewhere close by to eat and chose Foggy Rock based on TA reviews and weren't disappointed! The service and food were excellent - so good in fact that we ate here both nights we were in town and neither meal disappointed! Just gutted we didn't get chance to try the sister breakfast restaurant too! Can recommend the California Chicken and the Earth bowl - both delicious and big portions (with the option to take leftovers away which is always great).

Super efficient and helpful wait staff. Down home cooking at its best. The biscuits and gravy with egg and bacon is like grandma used to make.

Located on top of Gideon Ridge, guests enjoy dining Al Fresco or in our intimate dining room. The cuisine is an eclectic blend of the freshest mountain ingredients, prepared in the classical style. Dinner served Tuesday - Saturday by reservation.
We had our 4oth anniversary dinner here, and the staff did everything possible to make it a wonderful experience. They held the table we requested, which had a great view across the patio and toward the mountains. They started our meal with a glass of complimentary french cremant (champagne, but not from that overpriced district). We both had the halibut, cooked to perfection.

Our server, Brie was excellent and super knowledgeable and friendly. My husband had the coffee rubbed filet and it was delicious. Our college student daughter had the champagne chicken florentine and she ate every bite. And I had the low country salmon which had a good flavor except that it was overly salty. We would definitely go back only I would change my order. I love that this is a local restaurant that has been here for 34 years(I think).
