Dirty, old, and tired atmosphere which is very relaxing if you like a quiet meal in an empty restaurant. The breakfast and french fries are good and the burgers/wraps okay at best. The dinner menu is very very bad. The hot open turkey, pot roast, potato pancake is just plain gross and basically inedible. Nice dessert menu, but the dessert case is dirty and the coffee weak. The staff are kind, family oriented, but incredibly slow and inattentive. This place needs a new chef, a new competent staff, a deep clean, and a new look.

Long Island's most elegant, picturesque, waterfront venue for weddings and special events. Overlooking Milburn Lake in Baldwin, Long Island, NY, The Coral House offers an exquisite location for weddings, anniversary celebrations, corporate events and holi
This venue is much nicer than it was years ago. The grounds are beautiful right on the lake. The banquet rooms are nice. Food is very good. Great place for any special function. Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback! The Coral House has undergone intensive remodeling throughout the years and I am glad youâve enjoyed the changes. Hope to see you soon!

The Flour Shoppe is a favorite when visiting Rockville Center. Their tomato soup is incredible and their salads and sandwhiches are fresh and incredibly filling. Try their bread. Itâs freshly baked! The only downside is the place is a bit small and there can be a long wait for a table. The good side to this is they do takeout!

Great local place on the water, hidden from any main drag in town. Food is good, great options of wing flavors and the tidbits are really yummy. Good selection of beers on tap and they have live music every Friday and Saturday nights, plus Sundays in the summer. The only drawback of the place is that they have a deck but can't use it, something about a town meeting and got the license revoked...it's a shame. Overall a really nice place for a casual bite to eat or a drink out with friends. Staff is friendly and overall pretty clean.

This diner serves large portions of well prepared foods in a pleasant environment. The platters came quickly and all of our special requests were fulfilled. The bathroom was clean, and well stocked. Service is friendly and the owner was anxious to talk about his homeland with our Greek friends.

Am I getting soft? Another (nearly) 5 star reviews. I think of myself as a pretty tough reviewer ... I mean why write a review that doesn't outline the good and the less than good? But for the second time in as many weeks, I'm finding a restaurant on Long Island that from a price/service/food stacks up really well. Would have been 5 stars except (1) when we made some changes to our meal (ordering an main course served as an appetizer & ordering from the dessert menu rather than from the desserts verbally told to us by our server) they failed to inform us of a considerable up charge; and, (2) almost every fish on the menu was from a non-sustainable source. And restaurants that want to stay in business for the long-term need to start thinking about long-term sources of food. Those two issues aside ... food was perfectly prepared, well seasoned, arrived at the right moment and was piping hot (except the cold stuff which was cold). Our server, guided us expertly through a 5 course meal. Making suggestions, engaging with us to make us feel "at home" but not being overly present. Water glasses always stayed topped off. And the wine list albeit at 3.5-4x was a bit pricey, still had a few hidden gems and a nice selection of wines by the glass. The view isn't as great as those across the street, but you can still watch some boats come by and have the sense of being "on the shore". I'd go back.

I've been to Chadwicks for a few special occasions and hosted a baby shower there too! The food is fantastic and a great treat for a special night out. The location is perfect if you're looking to grab a bite to eat or a drink before heading into the city. The parking on this side of RVC is also better than "down town".Thanks for your review! We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience and we hope to see you again soon! Sincerely,The Team at Chadwicks American Chop House & Bar

First off, our server Angel V was great. Thanks for attentiveness and suggestions. One of us has to eat gluten-free. She loved the choices. For me, the El Rey Salad was great. A dinner special for $22 was filling but, lacking the flavor and quality for which diners were once praised. It was OK. Chopped steak arrived well done but tasted fined. A small baked potato, a scoop of steamed vegetables, a small (very small) salad and a thick pasty cup of pea soup (which was not included) rounded out the meal. Again for the price what does one expect? But, it was completely average. I was most disappointed by the pea soup; I use to think that diners were defined by the quality of their pea soup and if that was the case, I'd never return to this diner! Service was fast and the friendly. What caught me off guard was being charged for a refill on the unsweetened Ice Tea. I was told that the reason for being charged twice was that the Ice Tea was a "Fountain" item that was separate from the dinner price. Its all about making ends meet. Average to Sub-average quality, small portions and pricey drinks sounds like a recipe that will either keep the place open or push customers away. Do yourself a favor, order the breakfasts, at least they are consistent and dependable.

I'm out in New York for work and the first region I was at is the Long Island Area. The hotel clerk recommended a restaurant and I was going to go there but there was a dress code. Shorts was not one of those on the list for acceptable. Got on my iPhone and started to search and saw Bigelow's New England Fried Clams was not far away. Drove up and walked right in, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was just cool. The service was top notch, someone was always making sure us customers were being attended too and cups were always filled with whatever drink it was. The regulars were fun to listen to and the owner and son were there and they were chatting it up. It was a great experience and real nice to see that there are business out there that still take care of their customers.I ordered the Clams and fries and was so glad I did. Great fresh taste, a lot of clam strips by the way. Just overall good food, everything that I saw coming out looked really really good. By the way, being in New York I was torn to order Manhattan or New England style clam chowder, I went with the New England, WOW, it was screaming. Tasty and just damn good. If I come back out here again, would love for my famliy to come to this national landmark!!! Place has been there for over 80 years. Wishing them another 80. Thanks for a great experience and for the fantastic food!!
