New American cuisine comes to life in this custom-designed location overlooking the harbor in Newport Beach, California. Award-winning Executive Chef Paul Gstrein brings culinary drama to his inventive dishes for lunch, dinner and the enormously popular C
A group of 8 of us received a frosty welcome on arrival. Pre- set menus had been arranged previously but we needed to change to the main menu as 2 of our party had fish allergies. The manager was very rude to one of our group by putting up her finger and saying shhhh when he spoke. Another of our group ordered calamari as a starter - the portion was huge and we felt that it was the waiter and managerâs way of embarrassing us - luckily he took up the challenge and cleared the lot. The rest of the evening was fine, the waiter gained his composure and began to treat us with respect. The food was amazing but I canât recommend this restaurant because of the rudeness we experienced.

Enjoyable restaurant with indoors and outdoor seating with a lovely modern fireplace. Nice ambiance. You can dine in the main dining room or in the bar area. This time we caught a late nite steak burger cooked to perfection. Delicious! pleasant and efficient wait staff. Prices in line with upscale steak house. Valet parking. Self parking also available.

Straight from the farmers market, the season's freshest flavors come together to create a farm-to-fork experience.
We regularly visit Roger's Gardens for shopping for plants and unique items in their shops, but have never stopped in to their restaurant until this visit. It is a fun environment with a great staff. The "Farm to Table" cuisine is very nice and the setting is wonderful among all the beautiful plants of the gardens. They have a very nice area for special events like parties and weddings.

Tommy Bahama Island Grille is conveniently located in Corona del Mar Plaza, minutes from Fashion Island, John Wayne Airport, and of course, the beach! The upscale alternative to our Laguna Beach location features a fresh seafood, seasonal produce, and inn
Our family have been to many Tommy Bahama locations world-wide and truly enjoy the relaxing experience when eating there. Our experience at the Newport Beach location left a bad taste in our mouths. From the manager to the bus boy, terrible service all around. The only exception was a waitress named, Janelle. She was the only reason we decided to stick around and order. All other employees were rude and not friendly at all. Our experience was not relaxing and far from the customary Tommy Bahama experiences from the past. We will continue to dine with Tommy Bahama, but NEVER again at the Newport Beach location. I sure hope that Tommy Bahama corporate make a surprise visit to this location. Be sure to send someone that is non-white to do the investigation to get the real truth. It is definite that this location has a "whites only" unwritten policy and rudeness toward anyone that is non-white.

Still wonderful ... BUT:* GONE is that incredible Reuben Sandwich (I know it is primarily a seafood restaurant but if you ever had that Reuben you might say otherwise),* GONE is the Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay (the very hard-to-find Russian River version) that was sooooo exceptionally great at any price, and* GONE is that wonderful seating area that was right in front of the bar ... the seating area with THE most commanding view of the Newport Harbor of any restaurant there, and* GONE is "John", their exceptionally personable and concerned manager (he left for the right reason: retirement ... but as nice as their management is, we still miss him). "Jaime", a server assistant who has been there for over 30 years, is still doing everything he can to make your dining experience good. The "bar menu" is wonderful and all of the items on it are as dependable as they are delicious. But ask for the Crab Cake to be cooked maybe 30 seconds longer so as to enjoy it with a bit more "crisp" finish. It may look a little burned, but it is in looks only ... not the exceptional flavor. And Newport Landing makes them fresh ... they do not buy them from a supplier.Given the fact that they no longer serve Sonoma Cutrer, we bring our own wine. But I think a $15 corkage fee is exorbitant considering there's no effort in opening a screw-top bottle and they do not provide any "wine management" in its serving. And for those of you who might say "screw top wine and you are complaining about a corkage fee" I say do the math. Ten seconds to open and serve a glass is one heck of an hourly rate, let alone service surcharge. I know they are trying to make up for their lost profit on the wine but geeeeez.Newport Landing is still our go-to restaurant in Newport Beach. But gone are some of the things that made it really really exceptional.

Two lunches in one week - clearly I love this place! The decor is cheerful and bright, to be sitting outdoors in our wonderful climate adds to the pleasure of clean eating. All dishes are perfectly deliciously organic and good for you.. extremely colorful and tasty too. I could eat here every day!

You have to wonder where the Hillstone Restaurant Group (Gulfstream, Bandara, Cafe R&D, Houstonâs, Honor Bar, Rutherford Grill, etc.) finds so many clean, well groomed, educated, clear speaking, piercingless, tattooless, fresh scrubbed young people to work in their establishments. The food is amazing, but I find it fascinating to watch these beautiful, polite, energetic, young men and women, and doing so renews my faith in the younger generation. My hat is off to Hillstone for teaching these young folks and helping them along their way in life.

Nice views, great service and incredible awesome fish tacos. I tried the salmon taco, Mahi taco, and the lobster one... I would never say that out of Mexico I would enjoy tacos, but fish quality was so good.Things to improve, the âtortillasâ should be better (classical corn ones)

Wilma's is charming and busy and good quality food and service. The waitstaff seems more mature (40-50's) and that seems to translate into great service these days. The food is great! The prices are great! The service is great! We ate there multiple times on our trip and were satisfied every time. It's nice to see a business provide a quality experience when they could probably coast in a busy resort area. Kudos!

We are local little spots that have became one of Orange County's favorites for elevated comfort food. We are just-off-the-beaten-path restaurants that are low key yet deliver a BIG gastronomical punch with our dishes that combine American comfort food wi
One food adventurer and one less so wandered into this place just off of Newport Blvd on 18th street. They had something for both of us at breakfast, I had the "Fried Egg" and expected the items to come deconstructed on the plate...nope they were stacked but it was good. My friend had regular food and the potatoes looked sort of bland being so lightly cooked. I would go again and try some other items on the menu. Keep up the good cooking and pleasant service. Think about adding some sound proofing on the ceiling please.
