Reviews on American food in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Atlanta has been dubbed everything from the "capital of the new South" and "the next international city" to "the best place to do business." It's also a great place to visit. Fueled by the prosperity of local mega companies like Coca Cola and Holiday Inn, the prestige of hosting the 1996 Summer Olympic Games and the energy of young upwardly mobile types who have migrated to the city in droves - Atlanta is on fire. And this time it's a good thing. From world-class restaurants and a myriad of cultural attractions to a hip nightlife and sporting events galore, the city is cosmopolitan in every sense of the word. But Atlanta has also managed to maintain its historic character. Stop by the Atlanta History Center or visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site, a moving tribute to an American icon. Browse through the former home of famous author Margaret Mitchell or pop into the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum for details on the life and times of the former president and his family. Whether you choose modern urban endeavors or old southern pleasures, Atlanta will not disappoint.

Though I would avoid this place like a plague on a busy weekend, it is a wonderful Atlanta restaurant with biscuits that are just divine! During the week you can often find a place or two left to park and eat at the bar or have a short wait for a table. The chicken biscuit with red pepper jelly is a fun twist on an American favorite. The pimento cheese grits are great & the coffee options really good. The standout remains the biscuits. The only thing we would change is for the jelly to be raspberry or strawberry (many in our group did not favor the blueberry) but the biscuits are so buttery & perfectly flaky many of us just ate them plain.

We were visiting for the first time. There was a 30 minute wait but it moved along quickly. This place is cash only, I was prepared from reading the other reviews. This is a very busy place! It is small and resembles a diner with both counter service and table service. The waitress was okay. We were charged for an extra drink but she removed it once we brought it to her attention. Food....I had the fish&grits which was tasty and had a nice size piece of fish. Hubby had the shrimp and grits which he enjoyed. The shrimp were really tasty. Kids had chicken fingers and fries(fries are shoestring and the chicken tastes like they batter it in Pepsi) kids ate it but for the first time ever they werenât interested in taking their leftovers, burger and fries(basic), pancake and bacon(bacon was salty). Overall we left full but I wonât be breaking my neck to come back when visiting.

When you think of BBQ...southerners think pig...Texans think cow...Californians think anything cooked outside on a grill. Being from Atlanta I love Fox Bros! The pulled pork is excellent. The brisket is amazing. I have tried many of their menu offerings over the past few years. I always start with the smoked chicken wings! Out of this world! The pulled pork is juicy, tender and full of flavor. The brisket and chopped brisket burger are really good as well for those who want Texas BBQ! The burger is chopped brisket with pimento cheese, onion and pickle. For sides the frito pie, collards and baked beans are my favorites. The service is wonderful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and both the indoor and outdoor seating are great. You have to know the windows of opportunity to avoid the lines but the wait is worth it. The only real issue is parking but much of that is due to the neighborhood behind the restaurant which blocks them from adding more spaces. You know a place is good when you have to wait and there is limited parking. Allow yourself a little time and enjoy the experience.

Glad we tried a number of the small plates. Everything we had was incredible. The staff was excellent, I had eaten at some of the steak houses in the area and was getting tired of paying a lot for what was generally crappy food.

GET the smoked old fashioned. Trust me!Highlight of our trip! You will have to get the code from one of the major hotels. We got ours at the Hilton. This is a old speakeasy smoking bar. So if you don't like smoke this is not the place for you. They have a humidor there and many options to pick from. The bartenders are amazing and really know their craft. It takes time to make some of these very involved drinks, but oh so worth it.We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed yourself at Red Phone Booth. We appreciate your spreading the word with this review. Come back next time you are in Atlanta!

There is no better view or restaurant with this much ambiance OTP. I have been coming here since the 1990âs and it never disappoints. Make sure to get a table with a view of the river, and ask your server what they recommend. They know what is really good that night and what is really fresh. They want a good tip so they arenât goi g to steer you wrong!

Youâll know youâre in for a capital dining experience the moment you take in the breathtaking Atlanta skyline from your table. Your penthouse view will look even better after savoring a dry aged steak with a wine selection from an award-winning list. Even
Business dinner so limited choices but all fairly good and huge portions. The standouts were the steamed seafood app and the chocolate flourless cake. Both were heavenly. Also the calamari was delicious. On the just meh list were sadly the lamb chops (which were recommended to me over the filet when I told the waiter I was having a hard time deciding), lobster bisque and Caesar (both way under seasoned), sea bass (overcooked). All sides were good not great. Service was top notch. Thoroughly impressed.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service. The crab and avocado salad was delicious; it came with jumbo lump crab meat in huge chunks - a rare find in most restaurants. The filet mignon was tender, cooked to perfection, and had great flavor. The sides were generously portioned and tasty - especially the asparagus and the truffled mashed potato. The stuffed trout was also excellently prepared and tasty. The wait staff were very pleasant, friendly and attentive. The chef went out of his way to accommodate my daughter's severe food allergies, including making a special baked potato without the egg wash that all of the other potatoes had already been prepped with; he did so in time for her entree. It is rather pricey, but we thought well worth the treat. We would highly recommend and would definitely go back if in the area.

What began in Chicago in 1978 is now one of the most award-winning steakhouses around. For over 30 years, Morton's The Steakhouse has been on a mission to provide "The Best Steak⦠Anywhere." Focusing on quality, consistency and genuine hospitality, Morton
Lousy food and service. I understand it was busy but it took 2 hours to get our dinner. When we got it it was over done - that said the bill was $107 - this is totally unacceptable for Mortons. Someone needs to look at this restaurant and fix the problems.

Set in a stone house, this eclectic bar/restaurant offers burgers, sushi & a patio with park views.
Waiting in the rain started off on a sour note. Finally moving to the upstairs dining room changed that immediately, The buffet line was nearly empty and such a sumptuous array of food,Salmon, eggs Benedict, cheese grits, potatoes, green beans, fried chicken. Then fruit, salads, ceasar, chicken were all delicious. Dessert table had Mimosas, coffee, orange juice. Ceiling to floor airy white curtains make it very cheerful. Waiters cleared immediately. Excellent food. Will be dreaming about it.
