The city is named in honor of David Rice Atchison, United States senator from Missouri, and was the original eastern terminus of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. Atchison was the birthplace of aviator Amelia Earhart, and the Amelia Earhart Festival is held annually in July. Atchison is also home of Benedictine College, a Catholic liberal-arts college.

This is a great place that just opened in town that makes good coffee, lattes, mochas, macchiatos, other iced and hot drinks and much more. The caramel almond milk lattes are a must try. They also have some light breakfast items that are made in-house, cocktails, craft brews, and wine. So itâs much more than just coffee. Check out the back rooms for hanging to study or play games. A must visit in Atchison!

This restaurant is located on the west end of the gas station. It has all the charm you would expect from a gas station. There isn't even a sign up outside, only some painting on the glass door. There are about half a dozen tables inside, but it looks like most get carry-out.This is absolutely the best fried chicken I have ever tasted. I have been there a couple of times, and I will be back.

I love dive bars, but Mueller's Lockeroom is not worth visiting. We came on a Thursday evening around 6:30 and there weren't many people. We ordered a couple beers while we checked out the menu. Very basic bar food: standard list of apps and burgers/sandwiches and fries, which is fine. We got 3 burgers and a philly steak with fries. The service was so bad, it took 40 minutes to get our burgers! Then he said the philly wasn't done yet!. Then when the philly came 10 minutes later he said the fries weren't done yet! During this time I had to walk up to the bar to get another beer cause there is no service here, at all.The food is awful. I thought I'd be getting a good old fashion homemade burger. Nope, they are perfectly formed tan-colored meat circles straight from a freezer. The peppers and onions on the philly weren't even cooked, they were raw. I guess they didn't have time to cook them during the 50 minute wait. The fries were good, I'll give them that much. Bad evening at Mueller's. You're better off going anywhere else.

When making a day trip we always try to find a local eatery to try which is why we chose Jerry's Again. It is a very cute place with lots of tables and they even have booths. I had the special of the day which was chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes. Yum. I loved my choice and even got a homemade roll with it. My husband got the soup and 1/2 sandwich and he chose Jerry's #2 which was supposed to be polish sausage and sauerkraut on rye bread with a cup of beef noodle soup. He swears it was a hot dog and the soup was out of a can so he wasn't as enthusiastic as me about his meal. Of course the chocolate cream pie was a big hit and I loved the apple cobbler with ice cream. The service was very good.Thanks for choosing us! Glad you enjoyed our chicken and noodles, they are delicious! We are sorry your husband didnât care for our Jerrys two sandwich which is one of our most popular. We can assure you of two things:1. That it was indeed polish sausage and not a hotdog. Sometimes when people read âpolish sausageâ they expect brats, which the two are nothing alike. Although, polish sausage is more like a hotdog than a Brat. 2. In 15 years in business we have NEVER served canned soup. It was vegetable beef and not beef noodle, maybe thatâs were the confusion was. Again, thanks for coming in and we hope to see you again soon!

When we visit my wife's family, Paolucci's is a regular place for all to go. We enjoy the food and the service. They even have spaces for larger gatherings and we have had large birthday and other parties there. Staff is friendly and very prompt in service. Great for a small town restaurant.

We looked at reviews of this restaurant, I won't ever recommend this place. Someone had stated it was the best KC style BBQ they've ever had. Well, we're from KC. NOTHING like our BBQ. My brisket was cool and dry. My husband had ribs...not good choice. They were cold. And I swear they were under cooked. I've been eating ribs almost weekly for 28 years, cooked different ways. I know undercooked pork. Nothing special about the baked beans, hubby orders them everywhere, so I trust his word. I ordered the homemade potato salad, took three bites and pushed it away. It just wasn't good, flavor, texture, nothing. I also ordered the cheese fries, I hate to say but that was best part of the meal. Made from frozen French fries cooked to perfection topped with cheese from a can. I did like those. The service was really good!!! The girls were friendly and fast. I can't give terrible rating, the girls pulled it up to poor rating.

Service was good, atmosphere okay, the food was average. Not many gluten-free options. The gluten-free pizza was okay, the greek salad was average. It has a wide variety of items on the menu, so, maybe your choices would suit you perfectly.

We didn't realize the basketball tournament was on. They took our name and said to come back in 45. We went to Walmart and checked into our hotel. We got seated when we returned. The service was friendly and fast. The food was very good and we had a good time.

Family prepared food served family style. Salad first then best lentil soup ever followed by corn,potatoes,gravy,chicken,fish,barbq,ending with Apple strudel and ice cream. WOW excellent food surpassed only by the service. Just this is worth going to Atchison. So if you are going to Atchison for any reason include Cedar Ridge in your visit.
