Find out what American restaurants to try in Aspen. Everyone knows Aspen as a top-notch winter resort town. But outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy it in the summer, too, when the mountains become a perfect setting for hiking, biking and horseback tours. Some may be surprised to find it’s a top romance destination—but after all that outdoor exercise, who wouldn’t want to repair to a luxurious hotel room or a cozy, firelit bar?

Since 1997, Jimmy's has been Aspen's neighborhood restaurant and bar, the kind of comfortable restaurant where you can dine again and again. Ask any local, and you will hear that Jimmy's is an "Aspen Institution." The menu has something for everyone, from
Service fell short forgetting peppercorn sauce and served a well done filet, when asked for medium Rare. Jimmy walked over to check on our table and took care of the meal that was incomplete. Nice move. However, the server was too busy for us which felt very off putting,Hello, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with us. We strive every day for the best hospitality and quality food so we are also disappointed that we did not live up to your expectations. At times, things beyond our control affect our ability to have a fully staffed restaurant although we do our best to manage it. I hope you will consider visiting us again to see that your service was not typical of how we do business. Thanks, Jessica Lischka General Manager

Element 47 is Aspen's finest spot to wine, dine and unwind. Tucked inside The Little Nell, element 47 serves Colorado Contemporary cuisine emphasizing local wagyu beef, house-made pastas and seasonal produce. The dining experience is complemented by the h
Wow, Element 47 crushes on all levels! First, the room is absolutely gorgeous. Seating is very comfortable and intimate. Second, the service was world-class. Super attentive but not bothersome, and very engaged and helpful. But come for the food! Every thing we ordered was generous and portion size, fresh and flavorful, and perfectly prepared! The corn salad is not to be missed, nor is the ravioli. The octopus is also fantastic. Some of the photos make the food look fussy, but itâs absolutely not! Also, photographs make some of the portions look small, but itâs just that the plates themselves are very large and no oneâs going away hungry from this place! We had a chocolate mousse dessert that was served like a little Lincoln log with hard chocolate on top it was just incredibly original and a must order. Of the dozen restaurants we ate at in Aspen, this is definitely top of the heap. However, I would not encourage families with young kids to dine here for dinner, but breakfast and lunch is probably game on.Dear DavidMarino,Thank you for dining with us! I'm thrilled to hear you had an amazing experience with us, and one of the best meals you had in Aspen. We frequently update our dishes to include the freshest, local ingredients available to us. I hope to welcome you back this winter season to taste our new menu.Best Regards,Corey CampbellRestaurant Manager

Plato's Restaurant "The first and greatest of necessities is food, which is the condition of life and existence." - Plato's Republic, Book 2 Bask in the golden sunset as you dine on the finest and most inspiring cuisine in the city at Plato's Restaurant,
In the middle of a nondescript convention center, inside a building labeled "Walter Isaacson Center", itâs hard to imagine the 3 ski mountain view from the outside. The high ceilinged restaurant has 10 tables, with uncomfortable wooden chairs, modern decor, excellent staff, uneven food. The rabbit ravioli appetizer is divine, the brassitas not. All the grains and root vegetables throughout the meal were inedibly underdone. Very good steak, decent salmon. Desserts have an inventive, dramatic presentation, decent flavors, good espresso. Valet parking and shuttle service available.

Pinions has a great price fix menu at the bar. The food is excellent- well prepared and beautifully served. That is if, you can find someone to take your order. My only complaint.

Owners Craig and Samantha Cordts-Pearce of the Wild Fig and Brexi Brasserie have opened a new restaurant called Steak HOUSE No. 316. Exceptional prime steaks as well as fish & fowl.
People told us that it's the best steak in the country. Maybe that's true. It's certainly isn't known for its chicken, which was pretty mediocre, at best. If weather permits, choose to eat outside. The interior is so dark, you can hardly find your way to the rest rooms. Waiters were not overly friendly. Like most of the restaurants in Aspen, everything was pricey. Definitely does not merit a repeat visit.

A very popular restaurant - each time we walked passed this last week it was always busy. We walked in for Sunday brunch and managed to get a table straight away. Known for their meat and cheese and charcuterie platters but offering other menu options. We started off with the Kale Citrus Lifter âgreen juiceâ and the Aspen Mountain Red juice, followed by the delicious home made soups - the Thai Coconut Chicken soup (full of flavour) and the special Chicken with Black Rice - thankfully we opted for the cups vs bowls - the cups were huge! Delicious healthy salads and the special tacos were also a hearty portion. They have a retail section with delicious goodies. We shall visit again on our return in November.

One of the best kept secrets in Aspen. The food is delicious the location is perfect. Located above the bookstore this place has some amazing food. We usually come here several times during the summer to get a new book and eat delicious food. Everything is super healthy. If you are in aspen this place is a must.

During our first trip to Aspen, and our first stop in town we learned very quickly that October is "shoulder season" and many establishments are closed until the winter season starts up. However The White House Tavern was open and doing a booming business. We were lucky to get seats at the bar. The service was excellent and the meals at the bar were very tasty and came quickly. The $150 lunch bill for 4 of us was a bit of a shocker, but was correct upon several viewings. We come to find that this was not unusual in Aspen in October. I would recommend this restaurant as it has a great decor, excellent service and very tasty food.
