Jack's and Steamers is a family owned restaurant in Arvada, Colorado. We have a fun and friendly atmosphere and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Almost all of our food is made from scratch with only the fresh ingredients. We also have a prep kitchen whe
We found Jackâs in the Five Parks area of Arvada recently and have been back many times, for breakfast, happy hour, and dinner. In the morning, you see countless folks coming in for their morning caffeine on the way to work, moms meeting for breakfast after kids go to school, and a good bustle every day. They make and sell their own jam! Happy hour, from 4-6 provides a reduced price on particular beverages and a very limited snack menu. The lunch and dinner menu are the same and feature salads, sandwiches, appetizers, soup, dessert. We are fans of the fish and chips and sliders. Jackâs also has a catering business across the street. Jackâs started, and continues, as an employer of adults with developmental disabilities - kudos to them! There is a kids menu too.

Legendary Food, Legendary Service
There were four in our party. My ribs were tender and tasty. The others ordered different sirloin entrees. Each was cooked as ordered, but they lacked flavor other than salt and pepper. The shrimp that accompanied one if the dishes was fine. This was pretty much what we expected of a place of this caliber. We all thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary rolls. Our server, Tiffani, was terrific.

We stopped here for Sunday lunch just as it opened at Noon. Tocabe takes a Mexican fast-food approach to serving, with servers at the counter filling your plate with your choices from the assembled options. My wife and I both had the Indian Taco Plate with braised shredded bison, black beans, osage hominy, lettuce, cheese, mild tomato salsa and seed mix. Both the individual flavours and the overall combination of tastes were divine. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, and the cooking superb. I don't know how close this food is to what American Indians traditionally ate on the Colorado mountains and plains, but it is truly delicious. Not to be missed if you're in Denver.

This recent seafood restaurant addition in Old Town Arvada has a spark that makes it stand out among Jefferson County (west-side of metro Denver) restaurants. Very fresh fish in generous portions is the key for our visits. For a starter, their Broncos chowder special for just $2 was thick with New England origins but smoked and sage. The spiced Ahi tuna ($18) was an amazing deal- very generous quantity of tuna, with about 2 lb of flavored rice with eel sauce, onions and cabbage - best in Colorado. A special of scallop, shrimp and swordfish skewers at $28 99 included a good quantity of scallop and swordfish plus two shrimp (that were a bit tough). A Cabernet for $9 was decent and drinkable. Located only a hundred feet from the RTD new Gold commuter rail line. By car one mile north of I-70.

Loved this pizza spot! Cool location in an eclectic area. The ingredients were superb and the crust was perfectly baked with a wonderful flavor. If youâre picky about your pizza, this is your place!

During the day, we are a coffee house that focuses on espresso-based drinks while proudly serving an array of Bourbon-inspired and other pastries, muffins, cakes, scones and cakes. At night, we turn into a Bourbon bar where people feel "at home", dishing
Wednesday nights are really hopping with live music, distillery on sight (private party). And the dinner crowd. The musician Will Whelan was great! Music was a little loud for having dinner conversation but nonetheless good. Service was slow probably because of the private party. Also couldnât sit on the back patio because of the private party. Ordered pizza and although it took awhile, it was very good. Prices reasonable for that type of restaurant. I would definitely go again.

Once you scratch underneath the skin of this amazing-looking bar/restaurant with its old schoolhouse features and amazing bar with unrivalled selection of whiskeys, the glamour quickly fades. The food has gone be downhill over recent years and the service on our last visit was appalling. I am a 69 year old man who ordered a beer and was asked by the server for my I.D. - and no, she wasnât joking. First time anywhere in the USA thatâs happened to me. We then asked what the side of the day was and she replied, âI think it is a cucumber salad, but I think they were running outâ¦â So i waited in silence for her to say that she would go and find out, but when she didnât offer to do that, I requested her to do so. And this is called service?!?And when the food cane it really was pretty ordinary - and the menu never seems to change. What is even worse is that I emailed the manager highlighting my dissatisfaction with my experience so that he could address the issues - but two weeks have gone by and he/she couldnât even be bothered to reply. Hence the bad review guys.

We decided to try the Arvada Tavern in Old Town Arvada, because we had been experimenting at home with different ways to make an Old Fashioned. The Arvada Tavern has an excellent reputation for making amazing cocktails. We arrived at 3:50 on Labor Day and discovered they did not open until 4:00 PM. We waited in their outdoor seating area and were joined by several other groups who were also there for drinks and food. That's a good sign! They finally opened and welcomed us inside. Everyone was invited to sit where they wished, because the bartenders seemed to know everyone. It was a mid 30's to mid 60's crowd. No children when we were there and they did check ID's. So we sat at the bar and ordered an old Fashioned, an Old Town Old Fashioned and a Manhattan. Watching the mixologists was a real treat because the had rows of little bottles containing all sorts of ingredients that they added to the drinks they were making. The Old Hashion's were different, and both very good. Their original recipe Old Fashion was just what you expected but the house creation was excellent. I later asked them to make an Old Fashioned my way and they did, creating a spitting image of what we have been making at home. They said nice recipe. The Manhattan was also great. They have a Tavern creation, "Smoke and Mirrors" that involves burning a whisky barrel stave, capturing the smoke in the glass, adding a large ice cube, 2 x 2, to the glass and covering the glass to coat everything with the smoke. There are 4 or 5 additional alcohols, including Laphroaig added to the glass, so there is a hint of smoke. It was an excellent drink and quite an entertaining production. We also had an Irish Coffee, and it was every bit as good as what you will enjoy at the Buena Vista in San Francisco. The drinks are so good I recommend you have a designated driver, because you can easily get yourself in to trouble if you start having to much fun. But they do keep an eye on you! The bartenders are very entertaining and will tell you exactly what they are doing. The menu also has some great appetizers that we enjoyed at the bar. We saw many patrons eating full meals at their tables. This is a good place to eat good food as well as enjoy an excellent cocktail. So if you find yourself in Old Town Arvada and not wanting to go to another cookie cutter bar, go to the Arvada Tavern and you will become a fan and a regular.
