Great place for healthy soups, sandwiches, and salads. The atmosphere is great for conversation and time with friends. No overwhelming crowds or rush. This restaurant is a great place for lunch. The menu is simple and reminds you of an old fashioned family dinner.

Was worth playing chicken crossing the road to get there from my hotel room when I was tired of driving. Got a plate of ribs with sweet BBQ sauce that was pretty good.

There was so much meat on this Gyro I was surprised. The seasoning used made this sandwich so tasty unlike other gyros I have had in the past. The owners are very friendly and I noticed many of the customers are repeats and locals. The outside appearance to me is a little deceiving when compare to how good the food is inside. Another place in Alexandria that I have visited 2x and their will be a 3rd before I head out of town.

In years past we often had Sunday brunch at the Holiday Inn restaurant. Everything was ideal. Fast forward to current times with full renovation of the hotel and new restaurant. We were three couples dining there after church last Sunday. We were the only diners in the entire restaurant. Our waiter was good and took our orders promptly. Then we waited and waited and waited for one hour. Finally our meals were served. Three of us didnât complain about their meals. They had a sandwich rollup, a hamburger and a shrimp pasta dish. Three of us had less than pleasing experiences. We had seafood gumbo and steak. The guy who ordered the gumbo couldnât eat it because it was loaded with heavy salt and spices and far more sausage than shrimp. He could only taste two bites, then each of us at the table supplemented his meal. My husband and I shared an 18 ounce steak which we requested to be medium rare. Our steak was well done and very highly seasoned to the point we couldnât fully enjoy it.. We all felt like the costs of our meals was above the norm. We didnât complain to the staff, however we wonât be returning.

We try. To go by weekly and we have NEVER been disappointed! The food is great and the service is excellent! It would be great if the bathroom location was better but that is the only negative!

When traveling it is sometimes hard to find health food choices. This restaurant seemed to be the best choice for healthy.Service was fair. Speed was fair. Ambiance in nice.Menu choices were imaginative, like portobellos pizzas with no bread.I tried a salad with grilled chicken. It was fresh and tasty.I would try this place again.

Read the reviews so thought we would go here while in Alexandria. I liked the restaurant, it was a beautiful place apart from the TV upstairs which i think spoils it a tad. Service was very good and there was a good selection on the menu, including wine. The food though was disappointing. I ordered a steak and jacket potato, the steak arrived but not the potato, i had eaten half my steak by the time it did. The potato was also lukewarm. Expected better, especially as there were only 2 tables to serve at the time.

Legendary Food, Legendary Service
Second visit here. Greeting was better this time and we got a table virtually straight away even though it was very busy. I think everyone was trying to get the deal to eat before 6.00pm. Service was very good, I believe her name was Riana. Food was good as usual. I couldn't believe how many people were celebrating birthdays that day. We counted 7 just in the short time we were there.Overall a good visit albeit atad noisy.

Spirits is not your average restaurant. Since opening in the Garden District on the corner of Texas Avenue and Jackson Street in 1967, it has evolved into an Alexandria institution, a place where you can enjoy great food, great service and great live musi
Went here with a group of friends from work. It was a nice surprise, the establishment was bigger than I expected, with good decor and atmosphere. There was a patio area and live music as well. Food was very good as was the service provided by Pam.Only downside for me was the limited number of beers on tap, although there were numerous bottled options. Thank you for the great review! We do have 4 rotating taps so the next time you join us we will have something new for you to try!

This is a well maintained restaurant. The food is good, not great. Choice of entree, 3 sides, cornbread and a drink. You choose in a serving line. Two people was $31.00. Probably a fair price for the amount of food. Would I return on my next trip through Alexandria? Probably not. It was sufficient.
