Really nice Host, quit terrace that u canât imagine from outside! Really good menu , salat, pasta , pizza , meat , traditional food and sweets, all times fresh made. Nice friendly multilingual service. I love that place. We were here for two month in Gjirokastra for business issues and visited that lovely restaurant frequently. If u like good food and restaurants, go there!
The food was well cooked but totally forgettable, the service was friendly but very disorganised. We started with salads which were nice but identical to most other restaurants in Albania, for main course my wife had grilled pork which is exactly what it was, no rub, no dressing just slightly dry grilled pork. I had stuffed meatballs which arrived 15 minutes after my wifeâs dish - it was pleasant enough but certainly nothing special. We skipped desert as the rest of the meal had been very average and it felt like a waste of money and more importantly calories. Personally Iâd give it a miss and try one of the other great places in Gjirokaster but maybe we just caught them on a bad day.

We'd already eaten in various Albanian restaurants before we dined in Kodra. Albanian food is absolutely delicious and is enjoyed best in the least prepossessing places in my experience.Kodra is a professional operation and service is slick but the food, whilst good, was not the best we ate in the country. On the night we dined the tables were filled by tourist parties in the main. However, once the tourist numbers (including us) left, a growing band of, presumably local, guys gathered to drink raki and sing folk songs to an accordion. These guys favoured either a leather jacket or a shiny suit with the jacket worn "off the shoulder". There was some coming and going amongst their number too. Goodness knows what was going on ;-).Never too raucous, they accepted our gift of a drink for the musician and in response sent tea, beer and wine to our table. I won't lie - it was a great evening!

Just arrived in Gjirokaster at lunch time with no idea where to eat. Loved this little restaurant from the outside with the sympathetic cook standing in the door inviting for traditional food. So we stepped in. Incredible what comes out of the tiny kitchen. Simple traditional plates to choose from of good quality. Definitely to be recommended.
We managed to score a table (one of two) on the small balcony. Excellent street views, good food (though a couple of things could've been hotter) and fine wine. All at a reasonable price. Absolutely worth tracking down.

Lovely terrace to enjoy the evening. The menu is rather limited, we went for a local cheese dish as appetizer, and then a mousaka (very small portion) and a mix of local specialities. Albanian wine is rather expensive in this place

This is a traditional restaurant with a lovely shady courtyard located on the edge of the old bazaar away from the main tourist drag. The menu is quite varied with salads, meat dishes, trout and traditional Albanian options. Between us we had a mixed salad, fried potatoes, grilled chicken and moussaka and the food was good enough without being anything special. Local wine is available by the glass but the red was pretty rough.

Our farm is developed away from the noises of the town in suburb of Gjirokastra, among a very beautiful relief due to a dense vegetation of elegant and charming trees. In our restaurant we serve traditional and Mediterranean food which is entwined with th
Marsel and his Parents served us the best food. My wife is vegetarian and had a mixed plate and I had chicken. Everything is made by themselves, also the wine and Rhaki. We really enjoyed the hospitality and the fantastic food. This evening was very special for us. Thanks again for this :)Thank you so much for your visit. Thank you for your advice and the time we spend together. It was our pleasure to meet you and we hope to see you again. We wish you all the best and hope to see you again

Traditional south Albanian food. Typical Gjirokastras dishes. All vegetables and meat is bio.
Classic taverna with traditional plates..Nice terrace in the old town..Generous portion of village salad, very good baked cheese with tomatoes. We had meatballs (frankly not too much meat inside), a good portion of Moussaka..Service nice, right price
