Enjoyed a lovely visit to The Olive Terrace at The Tulbagh Hotel last weekend. The owners and management have done such a brilliiant job in transforming this main street country hotel into an eatery of note making it one of the best places in Tulbagh to have a meal. I had the slow cooked lamb soup as a starter and my wife had the Springbok carpaccio. Both dishes were delicious. For mains, I had the crispy duck nasigoreng. Nasigoreng is one of my favourite dishes and this was a slightly different take on what I am used to. It was a lovely dish. My wife had the lamb rogan josh curry with sambals. We went back the following night to have their pizzas which are first class.Dear Kevin many thanks for your custom and your kind review. I like to try well known dishes and then give them a tweak. I agree with you the Nasi Goreng with crispy duck is very tasty. Hope to see you again soon. Alasdair

This rustic country kitchen has an impressive and diverse menu offering. The staff, not just the managers, are welcoming and make you feel âpart of the familyâ from the minute you walk in the door. The meals hit all the notes including balanced flavor pallet, texture, taste and were plated beautifully. Appealing to the eye and so satisfying. The jalapeño poppers and the calamari tacos are incredible. This little gem in the Tulbagh valley is well worth taking a detour of the beaten track.Dear Quin_GouveiaThank you for your kind review!!
