During our recent four night stay in the Bakubung chalets, we enjoyed some really good food in the restaurant. What a pleasure to enjoy a meal, overlook a waterhole, with zebra, gnus, warthogs, waterbuck, impala and elephant in such close proximity. A lovely spot for sundowners too.On the Sunday we booked a table inside and enjoyed a hearty buffet. Everything from soup, seafood, curries, roasts, veggies and salads were on offer. All freshly prepared, well presented and very tasty. The dessert section offered a great selection of cold as well as hot desserts and cakes as well as a choice of four delicious ice creams and fresh fruit salad. On one of the other days we selected the fillet steak from the a la carte menu. A more than generous, tender portion accompanied by fries and buttered baby veggies. Delicious to say the least! Service was good and prices, average. We took our own wine and were charged a nominal corkage fee. Well worth a visit.

Palace of the lost City's fine dining 40 seater restaurant serving a fusion of African and French cuisine. The perfect setting for any special occassion.
Plume offered a 6 course pairing menu. Each of the six courses were paired with a specific South African wine. The chef personally explained the courses and the hostess described the wines. Both were excellent and their presentations professional. The food was very good, ticking all the boxes. In addition to the wines a whisky manufacturer also paired some of their whiskies with the main courses and that was a very unique and interesting experience. The singer was way above average and added significantly to the great atmosphere in the restaurant. Expensive but well worth it and highly recommended.
