We went there with a groupon voucher and we had low expectations given the neighborhood behind the train station, however surprisingly the restaurant was nice, either quite new or just refurbished with lovely decorations and furniture. The service was very nice too, the average rating is due to the food. The menu was half traditional Senegalese and half grilled meat and fish.It was not bad, my husband found it ok but my dish with fish, rice and vegetables was really too salty and tasty. One dessert was nice (apple pie) but the mango rice tasted all but mango. So good to give it a chance, I must say it was half full with Senegalese customers so the cooking must be authentic, but I am not sure I would go back.

Tremendously high temperatures make it desirable, whenever a railway stopover keeps you close to the station, to find some shady oasis, some welcoming, comforting place : not so unlikely to reach, should you know exactly where to go - or follow your instinct. In Lausanne, try the Café du Simplon, just down the North escalator. In Geneva, "Nomades" in the Grottes area (restored, friendly, surprising) will bless you with mezzés, Mediterranean (and moderately priced) delicacies, and space (outdoor as well as indoor).
