We didnât expect a lot initially since it was a restaurant in a hotel but we found that the chefs are very talented. Itâs branded as a French brasserie but until you try some typical French dishes â you arenât sure what youâll taste. Youâll be rewarded with great taste and presentation here. I tried a beef âstewâ dish that was more of a typical beef bourguignon than stew. The meat was very flavorful and tender. I had the fish soup and it was more of a bouillabaisse style and very good. The pastry chef knows what he/she is doing and desserts are great. There is a nice selection of affordable wine in the restaurant as well. Service is friendly and professional. The kitchen is enclosed but they have a glass where you can see the chefs at work. I pantomimed my gratitude to them as I left the restaurant. Youâll enjoy your meal here.

We managed to escape the harassment of the Ferry Port and tried to find somewhere to sit and eat before going to the airport. Thankfully we heard about this place and it was perfect. It's a cross between a cafe/diner type of restaurant. Big menu, with a hot plate counter so you can see many of the food on offer. I had Chicken tikka boneles with Masala chips. It was very very tasty food and was in a busy little side street where you can watch the locals go about their business. Not expensive either, so would definitely recommend!

Nestled next door to the historical Botanical Garden, Baraza is literally the perfect retreat from the hot, bustling city around it. Southern Sun Dar es Salaam's flagship restaurant is open every day for lunch and dinner, and offers a delicious fusion of
Hotel restaurants are not my favorites generally but, as I was convalescing after a hospital stay, my freedom of choice and movement was fairly limited during my stay at the Southern Sun Hotel in September 2017. I think it is fair to say that we were lucky to have the Baraza Grill so conveniently located at the ground floor of the Southern Sun Hotel where we were staying. This is a strong point for a hotel resident but a potential drawback for those that are in the city center or âbusiness districtâ but that also means that the restaurant is not over crowded. The head chef was South African at the time we ate at the Baraza Grill and he is to be commended for having set up a top rate restaurant that lives up to first rate international standards in terms of staff and cuisine. What my wife and I found was that their offerings (that are subject to frequent changes) were excellent, based on our experience. They also offer specials - which may well be limited to certain times of the year based on available ingredients (hence "seasonal") which we appreciated and were not let down by when we tried them. The Baraza grill is a restaurant that offers an intriguing mix of European, African and Asian food. The standards are high and comparable to any top level locale regardless of whether in Africa or Europe of Asia or the Americas. We had both great lunches and great dinners there. Leave some room for dessert. You wonât regret it.

We are in no way specialists in Ethiopian food, but what we were served was perfectly edible and looked rather exotic. Honey wine was delicious, and if I were to go again, I'd choose more meat dishes over vegetarian ones (but that's pure personal preference). The prices are clearly aimed at tourists, but nevertheless are rather affordable.

We had dinner on the restaurant terrace, beautifully decorated with candle lights and typical Ethopian furniture. The service was excellent from the Welcome to the Good-Bye. Once seated the waiters come with warm water for you to wash your hands. The meal is traditionally eated with the fingers. The quality of the food was unique in terms of taste and variety. A special note to the ceremony of the coffee being served. Not to forget its unique taste. Thank you! We will be back once in Dar!

My favourite reastuant in Dar es Salaam. I have been coming here for several years. It is kind of hard to find, but well worth it. Tell the taxi or Uber driver that it is near the "Twitter Bar" and they will know right where to go. The local artwork is amazing. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very cozy. I happy that you have been impressed with our establishment and all that goes with it. Most importantly our food and services. We will maintain the good standards and the excellent quality of our food. Wishing you the best in your travels and look forward to serving you again soon. Cheers.
