Things to do in Bamako
20 minute drive from Bamako. Worth travelling the distance so you can relax by the river and enjoy grilled meat. Calm and quite in the evening. Great place for private dinner. Grilled pork is mouth watering. There's a pool if you come during day time.

The grilled meat in this place is excellent. Atmosphere is great as well. The service is fast. The only thing I can say that is not positive is that they don't have a menu. They propose what they serve and you don't see the prices. A friend of mine who is a regular, told me after I left Bamako about a dish that I would have loved to try if I had seen it on a menu. Prices are pretty high as well, but not much different from similar places in Bamako and well worth it.
Where to eat Barbecue food in Bamako: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Fantastic Ethiopian food and friendly service. The choices are limited (maybe 8 main dishes or so, including vegetarian choices), but it makes decisions easier than with a long menu and ensures each one is delicious. There are also a few western dishes on the menu, but I've only tried the Ethiopian dishes.Nice traditional coffee service after the meal, with the coffee beans roasted in the dining room with you.

Located in the Musée National (National Museum) of Bamako. Tasty local dishes in a pleasant and quiet surrounding. Prices are ok and the service is fast compared to others in town.

It was raining all day today (Sunday) so we skipped going to this riverside restaurant until dinner time. I was surprised at how small the seating area inside the restaurant is. There are actually 2 seating areas - one outside near the swimming pool and one inside near the bar. We sat inside because of the flies and other bugs outside by the pool. Each table did have a anti-mosquito salve on it, but we did not need it inside the seating area.

HAve been ther several times and have always enjoyed it. Teh access road in teh rainy season can be a challenge so make sure you have a 4x4 after heavy rains. Great setting next to the river with a spectacular swimming pool and nice pub. Food has always been good and the evening buffet was great. Nice beef kebabs. Little bit pricey but worth it.

If you want to play e-coli roulette, go ahead. I ate here and got very sick. I should have known, given the dozens of flies that would not leave me alone, but with the positive reviews I figured I couldn't go wrong. I had the Bamako Fish (it was priced 3000CFA on the menu, but I was overcharged, another negative), and I got to taste it twice as it came up later that evening. This place was the only place that could have made me sick--I am certain of it. So eat here at your own risk. My guess is that there are plenty of restaurants like this, but this one found its way onto tripadvisor and somehow got good rankings. It made me very sick for four days.

Leisurely sitting by the river in Bamako is nice enough, but it's an even better experience if you're savoring an excellent grilled steak. I erred on the cautious side and had it cooked medium, but even so it was juicy and melted in the mouth.
